Too little too late??

I have been holding on too Christian Howard for two three wks now hoping he would make an earlier return than expected. All this waiting for three weeks an he is still considered 3 wks away.  So my question is the trade of Christian Howard to Marty Clarke  too little too late or perfect timing.  By the way this will b the first trade I have used.
