Forward line the worry IMO. Key it to pick where the value players are, and I reckon there's more in the midfield then up forward. There seems to be many players that are set to breakout in the midfield (450K-350K) and I'd look to choose one of them instead of Bartel. With the cash spare I'd upgrade Burton to maybe Gray, LeCras or Rioli - if you can afford that.

Other option is change either Cooney or Bartel to a rookie and then upgrade Burton to a full premium + if you got left over cash change Jolly to Sandilands or Hille to Kreuzur/Tippet. But I have no idea if you can afford that.

Dees for the Draft

Not sure about starting White.  He's still very raw, and we don't know how he'll fit in with Bradshaw.  I had him as a ruck in DT last year, and he had a few brilliant scores, but a lot of terrible scores also.  Could be an ok pick - one to watch in pre-season.

Palmer is more of a DT player, but could be worth a look.

Not sure about Macca Jnr - Brisbane backs tend to score well, and I'm not sure if he'll be able to replicate those scores for Melbourne.

You've got four rookies in your forward line, I'd look at downgrading one of Goodes or Burton to a cheaper option and upgrade one to a midprice.

Blueboys

0$ lol - I heard that Goddard will be a Centre this year, stuffed me around too.  >:(

You have a solid team. As others have stated you forward line could be a problem. Burton and white don't like.

Plus you have 2 rookies in your team too. I can't see your forwards line scoring to high. Deledio is worth a lot I am sure you could down grade him and upgrade Burton or White?

All in all I like it  ;D

Hippo,

Pretty good team. As said Burton abit of a risk with injury and I can see he is probably a tempting pick.
As Hibbo suggested maybe try Gray, LeCras, Rioli or even Dangerfield I think he will get more time in the midfield for the Crows and he can kick goals which is handy.
Just some thought I guess but a good team.

Hippo

thanks for all your comments guys!!!! Burton was simply there to make some money and piss him off by about rd 8.... however i have swapped him for Dangerfield... i will take the gamble with White as hopefully he will explode this yr!
Mids are better now i think!!! i have picked some players i think will still do well but not as many teams will have them i.e. McLean, Power, MacD, White

Anyhow is this an improvement or am i just moving players around with no real gain???

Dees for the Draft

I like McLean and Dangerfield.

Tiges will be sh*te this year, so I'm not sure about Newman.  He had a great year last year though, so I'm intending to pick him up somewhere during the season.

Not sure about Adcock with the injury suffered late in the season.  I know he played finals, but he must've been massively injected.

Not sure about Macca Jnr's role at the Dees, Tappy is no guarantee for regular games with the Dees yet to debut Strauss, Blease, Scully, Gysberts, Trengove and Tappy in the midfield, not to mention giving a couple of their players a bit more of a go in the middle.

There are some top draft picks that are likely to get plenty of games this year.  I'd have one of them on your midfield bench to ensure that you have an emergency most games.

thanks Dee there is a bit of method in my maddness... heres my thinking on adcock
"last half dozen games he scored 106, 113, 83, 100, 126, 134 & 11.. his avg for 09 was 87.3 OK now in 07 he avg 110 but the yr before (06) it was 89.2.pretty much the same as this yr and this is how he finished off the 06 to lead into the 110 yr 87, 83, 109, 139, 146 Looks to me he finished off this yr exactly how he did in the 06 season to get to the 110."

MacDonald will play every game and i think he will be the main man in the BL aka Hodge, Bartel..... could be wrong but hey the ball will be down there allot they didn't draft him to not play him!

Newman yeah but no dif to last yr tigers were just as shower and hes as consistent as Enright.... + not everyone will pick him!!

You don't rate Shuey?.... on dif sites i can't beleive the big things they expect of this kid and his talent so i think he will get games!

And Tapscott its all here say! but he has the body most ready for afl footy out of all the draft picks (think Rich) hes right physically for the big boys and thats good enough for me

i like the fact i have no rookies in the back and that there are only 3 on the field

thanks for your comments just putting my thinking in writing

Dees for the Draft

Shuey definitely has potential, but I'm not sure how many games he'll start.

The Eagles weren't great with giving kids a go last year, considering where they finished, that was a surprise.

A lot of kids got a go, but didn't get regular game time.

He'll do well and make you money, but I question whether he'll play enough games.  I'd upgrade one of either Tappy or Shuey to a top draft pick to ensure that you've got someone on the bench who's likely to play 20ish games.  Most of the top picks should baring injury.

Mark Williams (Melb Assist Coach), has mentioned that Scully, Trengove and Gysberts are looking at round 1 debuts, the implies that Tappy may not be, despite having a big enough body to score well.

Both bench players are good, and my only question is the amount of game time that they'll get.

I'm still not convinced by Adcock - also remember that he's a slow starter.  You may be able to pick him up by round 6 for a lot less.

I like Newman, and he was a gun for me last year.  You're right that he's really consistant, and one of the Tiges best players.  I'm just trying to stay away from any player that had a really good season last year after being burnt by several players who lost a lot of money last year.  The only exceptions I've made in my team are Ablett, because I have to have him as skipper, and Selwood and Gibbs because I still think they'll improve on last year.

As for Macca Jnr - see what sort of role he's playing in pre-season.  Bruce or Green or Macca Snr could possibly get the quarter-back role.  A real smokey is Strauss - picked up with pick 17 in the 2008 draft, struggled with injuries, but is a brilliant kick and could get a lot of the ball off half back and hit a lot of targets.

Re: Currie, why don't you move Trengove into the ruck emerg instead and pick up Shepard (WCE) in the backline.  From reports he's been training really well with the midfield and should be listed as a back.
