After viewing everybody else's teams, I thought I would throw a team together for people to pick apart! I think it is generally well balanced, with the main doubt being in defence with players returning from injury. Please feel free to comment.

Hey Brand,
Very similar to what I am looking at!

Did you do this team off Fan planner? I dont know that you could afford this team. If you can its pretty strong!

I could not fit 4 blokes over 600k into my team!

Brand

Hey tony73

Yeah I did it on Fanplanner and have $19,100 left over. It took a fair bit of shuffling around but I think most of the rookies should all get game time early and the 3 over 600K (GAJ, Riewoldt, Goddard) are must haves and give plenty of options for captain, especially with Cox thrown in as well. I've tried to go a bit stronger in the rucks for this year after spending most of last year getting shafted by injuries, but i guess you never know who's going to fall over at any given time.

Brand,

Thats a great team first up. Defence is similar to others but a good one still. But I like it and it could be a good one that pays off with Hunt, SMith and Ladson in there coming back from injurys. Ladson is to good to refuse at such a low price and should come back strong in 2010. Smith is another one who needs to take the AFL apart with his talent.

Your mids are solid and should score consistantly for you. GAJ, Cooney, Goddard, Mitchell and Vince are proven performers.

Rucks are good also with big Cox back for a big 2010 - and the up and coming Tippett will only get better.

Forwards good too - Sean Rusling......he is a massive wild card since Brad Dick went down with his injury a few weeks ago for the Pies and is fit and training well I heard. He could play Round 1 and you would be happy if thats the case. Risk is what you need in this game and abit of luck on some players coming back from injury.
I have been following a few players progress and he is one I will look into more when Nab Cup starts.
Rookies look good and the whole setup I would be happy with if it was my side.

Cheers Magic

I've had Rusling and Gumbleton tentatively in my sides for the last 2 seasons but the buggers keep getting injured! I think both can play, but it would just be nice to see them actually get out on the park, especially Gumby now that Lloyd and Lucas are gone. Rusling could be anything if his shoulders hold up, but it saddens me to break the no Collingwood player policy!

Yer sorry Brand,
I forgot I have 200k set aside to put Goddard down back hopefully if he is listed there again.

If you have a look at the team I posted it is very similar except I am going with Sandi in the ruck. I traded Cox in the week he went down last year and cant stomoch him just yet but may look at him for an upgrade target.

I also was looking at Smith but cant have too many players coming off injury in my back line!

Clint-84

Just so u know guys, Goddard is now available for selection in the backline. Obviously it's only fanplanner so it's not official, but i'd say he will be listed as b/c next year

Rusling is a good pick though, next season could be his year and maybe a strike 3 policy is the way to go with some players. Has had 2 shoulder reco's and i think he has a spot in their side down forward. If it doesnt pay off with him thats fine you burn a trade and get someone else who is starting out and make you abit of money. Dont feel to bad if you break the no player from Collingwood policy ;D
Gumbleton the same we are all hoping he will have a great season and fill the postion down forward for the Dons. But he is doing well pre-season last time I heard.

Afew minor changes have been made to the team..............with hopefully Goddard still being a back, a shuffling of the rookies to allow a swap of Luke Power to Marc Murphy & Jonathon Brown to Delidio. Tell us what u think.
