Hey all,

FF newbie so be kind!!!

Some great info on this site and I have been working on my 2010 for a month or so now.
Finished in the top 10,000 in my second season and although I got hit pretty hard by injuries early, I still had the trade early virus that I am determined to get rid of in 2010!!

This is my current team

Backs;
S. Fisher, L. Hodge, H. Shaw, R. Ladson, B. Waters, T. Kennelly, N. Suban

Bench;
M. McGuire, M. Farmer

Mids;
G. Ablett, B. Vince, A. Cooney, D. Kerr, T. Swift, R. Palmer,

Bench;
J. Melksham, A. Morobito

Rucks;
D. Cox, B, Ottens

Bench;
D, Hille, R. Warnock

Forwards;
L. Franklin, D. Bradshaw, J. Ziebell, C. Mayne, P. Dangerfield, B. Warren, G. Rohan

Bench;
D. Talia, R. Bastinac

Notes;
Pretty happy everywhere currently except the forward line.  Although many people have said how hard the rucks are to choose, I found the forward line alot harder.  Ended up going for a few players that should turn into keepers and a couple that should be cash cows.
Happy with my premuims and captian options.  GAJ and Cox are obvious but I think Cooney and Vince will both be options for captian this season.
Not 100% on Kennelly but only one of he, Macguire or Farmer should improve enough to be a solid bench/keeper.

Thoughts??

I like the kennelly pick. suban could prove useful and has good promise for durability as he played 22 games in his debut year. Waters is injured and no certainty to be back for the start of the season. I have been very iffy on kerr for the last few years because he is very inconsistent. I think the fwd line is a little below par. i dont know much about mayne. and you need to lose rohan. paul roos has already confirmed he wont play this year. Personally im starting the year without a swan/ablett to save the cash because they wont be able to hold that price. Maybe start a bryce gibbs instead of ablett (unless you are set on the idea of having him) and pump the left over cash into the forward line.

I like Ziebell, I like Mayne, and I think Bradshaw could turn out to be an inspired choice (I am tempted to go there myself).  All the same I think you're going to need another gun in your forward line.  Also David Hille is an expensive bench warmer who may or may not be ready for round 1. If it looks like he will be ready I would play him second ruck, downgrade Ottens to a rookie and use the money to help strengthen the forward line

that looks like a good team mate, except what i would do is trade Kerr down to a rookie someone like a Scully or Martin, then upgrade Warren or Mayne to another Premium.  Also get rid of Hille of the bench and trade him down to a rookie, dunno who though at this stage mabye Lobbe from Port and that we keep the extra money in the bank

A few things:

- Too much money on your ruck bench, put Hille on your field or get rid of him. Consider West or Vardy from Geelong.
- Backline too weak IMO, I would be looking to upgrade one of Waters, Kennelly or Ladson. Perhaps downgrade Suban to a rookie to free up cash.
- Forward line also far too weak. Needs at least one more premium.
- Downgrade Kerr or Swift to a rookie, helps free up cash.

Thanks for all the input guys!!

Have swapped GAJ for Mitchell, not 100% sure but I'm just not sold on Gibbs as a captain option as yet.

At under $300k I really think Kerr is a steal.  I spoke to him through the Eagles website online chat a couple of months back and this is going to be the most complete pre-season he has had for 4 years.

I'm pretty certain I won't loose money out of Kerr, Swift or Palmer and think they should all get to $400k.  Compare that to starting with two rookies, let's say Scully and Martin, where there is alot less certaintee that they will get plenty of games, let alone average enough week in week out to get close to $300K and make me as much as the experienced trio.

Look at Rich, probably had one of the best first seasons we will ever see and only went up $200k, about the same as Paul Haselby.

Make sense?!!!  lol

No doubt most of peoples (and mine) rookies will change in the NAB so I'm just trying to decide on the others for now.

Kerr Swift and Palmer are very doubtful to reach 400K this season. I would say 360-380 at the most, which for Swift would be only and 80K rise. Scully will rise 80K no dramas.

Palmer and Kerr are great value no doubt, not sold on Kerr as a DTmer but if he plays at that price you couldn't really go wrong.

Got 3-4 keepers in each position, plenty of upgrade options and with Hawthorn playing Melbourne in round one I think Mitchell will have a cracker and be a good captain.
