Ive been having a look over the winners from the past 10 years:

Team   Votes
2008 Adam Cooney Western Bulldogs 24 (3rd) (Prelim)
2007 Jimmy Bartel Geelong 29 (1st) (Premier)
2006 Adam Goodes Sydney 26 (4th) (Grand Final)
2005 Ben Cousins West Coast Eagles 20 (4th) (Grand Final)
2004 Chris Judd West Coast Eagles 30 (7th) (Elimination)
2003 Mark Ricciuto Adelaide 22 (6th) (Semi)
Nathan Buckley Collingwood (2nd) (Grand Final)
Adam Goodes Sydney (4th) (Prelim)
2002 Simon Black Brisbane Lions 25 (2nd) (Premier)
2001 Jason Akermanis Brisbane Lions 23 (2nd) (Premier)
2000 Shane Woewodin Melbourne 24 (3rd) (Grand Final)
1999 Shane Crawford Hawthorn (9th)

Had a mate who reckons Goodesy is a sure thing- A brownlow winner from 12th on the ladder? id be keeping my money in my pocket

You need to win games to win a brownlow. Taking votes off each other doesnt mean shower if you dont win. More often that not the best player will come from the winning team rather than the actual best player.

Last weeks games showed that the brownlow will only come from one of these teams:

St Kilda
Geelong
Western Bulldogs
Collingwood
Adelaide

To work out who is going to win, I think the best way is to select the best 3 players from these 5 teams. Thoughts??

Hmm you have a point however Goodes had an excellent last six atleast three were against the top three teams so he may 'pinch' a few votes off the top team. Top three may be stretching it but i'll name atleast two for each.

But
St Kilda: NDS, Roo and Goddard
Geelong: GAJ and Seelwood
Western Bulldogs: Boyd and Cross
Collingwood: Swan and Davis ( maybe a few for pesti but seeing as a backman not likely)
Adelaide: Vince, Goodwin and Tippett

I don't know much on the whole suspension status of these bloke but they'd be my pick. However I can see votes being pinched by a few of their team mates like Hayes, Fisher, Bartel, SJ, Cooney, Aka, Johnson, Didak, Beams, Mcleaod, Porp etc.

Heres my choices:

St Kilda: Montags, Reiwoldt & Dal Santo
Geelong: Selwood, Ablett & Stevie J
Western Bulldogs: Cross, Boyd & Lake
Collingwood: Swan, Didak & Lockyer (?)
Adelaide: Edwards, Vince & Goodwin

giddeyupbigal

while he might not win, goodes will poll extremely well.
remmber black and richardson last year.

top 5: ablett, swan, montagna, goodes and judd. (hayes, del santo do poll well though)

Warriors

Jono Brown and Roo will poll well i rekon.
the umps will concentrate or fwds aswell this year

My choices are in order of how they will finish.

Saints: Montagna, NDS, Hayes, Riewoldt, Goddard
Cats: Ablett, Selwood, Chapman
Dogs: Boyd, Cooney, BJ, Cross
Pies: Swan, Didak, Pendles, Davis
Crows: Vince, Goodwin, Thompson, Edwards

But IMO Goodes & Judd will be right up there. I can't split GAJ, Swan, Montagna, Goodes, Judd, NDS or Selwood for the win.

some big money spenders must of put a dump load of cash on brendon goddard today. hes in from $87 to $20 for the win. and $18 into $5.50 for the place. Lucky i got him at $18/1 for a place on Saturday. Nice.

Ive also got money on stevie j to be infront at the conclusion of round 11.

I just couldnt put money on a clear winner this year, the odds on ablett winnning it are just too great...his statistics are incredible and everything points to an ablett win finally.

Alot of people dont like ablett, but the bloke is more deserving of anyone in the comp to win a brownlow at least once in his career. he works so hard and is just that much better than the rest. Im collingwood supporter and i should hate him more than most because he chopped us in the prelim...but give credit when credit is due, gary ablett jnr is a superstar.

dog

yeah im liking goddard...thinking he is a good chance.
Ablett has still got to be the fav...

What has everyone been betting on?
Ive put a few dollars on tyson edwards for leader at round 11 and the crows top poller

roo boys!

I think Ablett will win with 30 votes and judd will come second. Nah seriously I reckon GAJ was a deserving winner.
