In order to upgrade Birchall to Shaw I need to downgrade Saad to who:

Zeph Skinner

Thomas Couch (if elevated)

Stay with Birchall and Saad

Should I keep Birchall instead of upgrading to Shaw for my D3 spot?
Goddard, Lids, ??, Heppell, Hargrave, Ellis, Bugg (Darley, Wilkes)
Is Couch the only rookie listed here still to be elevated? He'd be better as a downgrade option later then I think.

Stay with birch and also go Hall or Dickson. Out of the 2, go Hall.

Do not keep Birchall. That would be quite stupid. Then you'll have Goddard, Lids and Birchall all out on the one weekend.
