Goddard conundrum

Goddard hasn't exactly set the world on fire. No information on whether Goddard is playing differently under Watters or something. Also Hargrave isn't filling me with a world of confidence when I see his name in my backline especially as his one bad game was his most recent one. Golby's stats have been awesome but will Brisbane be similarly chipping it around in the season proper.

Basically I can have

Goddard and Hargrave

or

Birchall and Golby

anyone?

I'm sure the hope is that he was pulling a Dane Swan and not giving 100% in the NAB. Even if he does drop off a bit I don't think Birch will catch up to his average. Also, due to Goddard being injured in that Freo game last year (in which he look set for a massive ton) he is probably a couple of points underpriced. Too much of a risk not to go with him IMO.

Goddard had a showerhouse year last year by his standards and still averaged more than Birchall (95 vs 89). And I think Birchal has only averaged more that 80 once in his career.

Don't throw out Golby as an option so unwittingly.

Massive risk, people have to realize this before picking him. His not a walk up 90+ every week. Drummo is arguably still very important to Brisbane.
