I currently have the 4 premium, 4 rookie midfield. Do you think picking 3 GWS mids is overkill? Or are they worth 3 of my 4 rookie spots?

These are the best 3 you can pick so i would say it's safe and not overkill. :) great choices!

GWS will be smashed this year and most games will be over at 1/4 time. Even if these guys play well for the whole game their points will be scaled back due to them having no influence on the result of games. GC were competitive in enough games for Swallow to be able to score well. GWS won't even be close. They'll need to score 20% better than rookies in a good, competitive if not winning team to score the same. Curnow is a perfect example.

I agree with your counter argument meow and thats why I have my doubts, but I just struggle to see how the other rookie mid candidates will do any better. Ledger, Cunningham and Stevens are a hot chance for the vest, Jesse Stringer did well in the NAB but probably won't get a game at Geelong, Clay Smith and Hogan can't hit a target and may be vested. Plus I only want one high price rookie and Coniglio seems like he'll outscore Caddy, Wingard, Beams and Lucas anyway? Magner is my 4th rookie BTW.

Beams has been Brisbane's standout young player this preseason. Magner is good enough to play on the ground, and will play round 1 IMO. Clay can't hit a target but averaged 140pts a game in the TAC Cup and he couldn't hit a target then either.

Don't pay any attention to me, I just love arguing.
