Anyone thinking of starting Giles and have Redden and Stephenson on the bench and using the extra $300k elsewhere, also if not Hale or the Cruze.

for mine kruze is the best mid priced ruck of believe it not minson will be a find this season.

BUT i along with a TON of other people will start Giles with redden and big o on teh bench. If ANY mid priced ruck doesnt become a keeper he costs you a trade and won't make you as much money as a rook would.

Safe to say all three of those rooks will play and play a lot so all will make you good money and the trade you use to get your #2 premium in will have made you more money and likely happen sooner.

The only real benefit to starting a midpricer is

a) potential higher scoring up until you trade him compared to the rooks scoring

b) he becomes a keeper and scores like a premium - becomes a premium - this is the outcome you want in a mid pricer.

I am starting Giles....McEvoy/Rookie or Giles/Murphy were my options....Murphy won hands down...Giles might not be too far off the second tier rucks anyway I'm hoping- a bit like Z Smith, last year.

PICCOLLO

Undecided but leaning that way.  If it goes bad, i won't be alone.

+1 Agree, ihave used the $$$ in the fwd line as a Point of difference - I have 4 prems in Def, 3 in middle, 1 in ruck and 5 up fwd (Chappy, Buddy, Rioli, Pav, Martin etcwillscore 100 plus)

1st upgrade would be ruck early on Giles has mature body will cover load and the 30 PPG in loss is made up more than enough in the 50 PPG gained with my premium fwd over another rookie - Plus people are forgetting subbed players are Mids, Fwd rookies

Really want to but Sooked out due to a worry on big o gone with hale as I can trade him into forwards and bring in a rookie if Giles or redden step up

Starting Giles also gives you an opportunity to see how the other premium ruckman go before forking out the big cash for them.
There has to be slight question marks on:

Cox - Less time in the ruck might affect his scores a bit with nic nat around. More time in the forward won't help him either.
Goldstein - Mcintosh will definitely take away hitouts and tog if he stays fit.
Sandi - Turf toe? From what i've seen over the years in the NFL, just seems to always linger around.
Berger - Should be OK but with hudson and the billy longer around he could suffer. Or maybe play a little bit more up forward.
Roughy - Maybe no ruck duties which will hurt his scores and will be a slow starter and more of an upgrade target.

I know most people will disagree with cox. Any other thoughts?

I agree with most of that, I had Cox locked but think he will drop as NicNat rises, maybe not a lot but a drop of anything makes his starting price unacceptable.

I switched to Mummy after his last effort, and given the fact the only serious options i like other than him in mcevoy jacobs and burger havent looked nearly as good as mummy preseason. Mummy is a ruckman a ballwinner and most importantly a tackling machine.

anyone who picks goldy or hmac will be in for a rollercoaster ride. I dont trust sandis body even tho i do his scoring potential.

Roughy not ready to start with anyway from round 1.

I love people saying cox will drop in value every year due to NicNak ... Cox will stop scoring well when he retired ... FULL STOP.

The must have for me now is Mumford ... showed enough last week ... 42 hit outs ... to prove he will be the 2nd best this year ... he will also absolutely SMASH it round 1!!!!

Giles will score ok round 1 as he will be following Mumford around so he will get touches ... well tackles maybe!!
