West and Stephenson combo

Anyone else considering West and Stephenson as R2 and R3? Byes aside it will allow you to have both ruck scoring Cats and choose whoever becomes number one on the park and upgrade the other. At this stage no-one knows who will be No.1, some say West some say Orren. This covers both bases there. HMac may be a better option, but he does have Goldstein in the ruck and Petrie forward to compete with.

Stephenson has been pretty ordinary so far and has almighty battle to break into the Cats side I think.

Actually, think he'll Rd. 1 - even though his NAB Cup form has been average at best - simply because we (the Cats) need 2 rucks & we only have 2 fit rucks (West & Big O). But that doesn't mean he'll either score well or stay in the team once either Simpson or Vardy are back mid-year. So long-term JS is very questionable from my point of view. Having said that, may simply need time to adjust to AFL footy after years of VFL footy... Time will tell, but I'll be going a reliable: Cox, Mummy, Giles, Redden Rd. 1 combo - premium rucks will/can score more heavily than their def/fwd prem counterparts, therefore spend more there initially & get that right, then concentrate on getting backs/fwds right later (meanwhile your premo rucks have been smashing out BIG scores from Rd.1). Just my 2 cents.
