Ive done some stat crunching from previous brownlows and comparing them to 2009 and come up with a criteria that a player must fit into in order to win the brownlow...i believe if you can nail this criteria you have your winner...so here it is.

The winner will come from 1 of these 10 players.

http://www.finalsiren.com/PlayerCompare.asp?SeasonID=2009&Compare=Go&PlayerName1=leigh+montagna&PlayerName2=nick+riewoldt&PlayerName3=matthew+boyd&PlayerName4=&SelectedPlayers=746%2C119%2C521%2C1714%2C1009%2C582%2C386%2C436%2C

And here is the criteria:

Brownlow Criteria (To win a brownlow a player must...)

Play in a top 4 team.
(Goddard, Swan, Ablett, Selwood, Montagna, Boyd, Dal Santo, Riewoldt)
Be a midfielder (Or high possession winner)(All of the above, excluding Riewoldt)
Kick no less than 15 goals for the season.
(Goodes, Swan, Ablett, Boyd, Dal Santo, Riewoldt)
Somehow have the ability to catch the umpires eyes (Either how they look physically or their by the style they play)(Ablett, Swan, Goodes, Judd, Montagna, Riewoldt)
Not have a lot of other polling players around them to steal votes.(Boyd, Judd, Goodes, Black)
Be on the umpire’s side and not piss them off during the season (Look towards the FF and FA column)
(Selwood, Swan, Goodes, Judd, Dal Santo, Black)
Have the ability to stand out in a game and attract maximum votes rather than being consistently average.
(Montagna, Judd, Goodes, Ablett)
Be in the top 10 odds at the TAB

And The Winner IS........................

Don't agree with this statment. Players have won it with teammates who poll well.
Winner  /  Year  /  Teammates
Bartel     2007     GAJ, Selwood, Chapman, SJ, Enright, Corey, Mackie
Cousins  2005    Judd, Kerr, Cox, Embley, Fletcher
Judd       2004    Similar to Cousins in 05'
Black      2002    Akermanis, Voss, Power, Lappin

I think it matters more on how many games you win, if you win enough there's enough votes to go around.

But on the whole a good report.

hibbo I agree it does help to win as they get more possession and such but one person is alot more noticable to umps than a team dominating as a unit unless there is a huge difference in player talent
