So the 4 rookie rucks is a very risky strategy, but what could a team look like with 4 rookie rucks...

Seriously thinking of taking a risk this year for something different...

Thoughts?

DEF:

Shaw, Fisher, Enright, Bock, Broughton, Mhor, Morris (Yagmoor, Wilkes)

MID:

Ablett, Swan, Boyd, Selwood, Hampton, Neale (Magner, Gibson)

RUC:

Jiles, O, Redden, Rowe

FWD:

Franklin, Pavlich, Martin, Cloke, Petrie, Brown, Smedts (Crozier, Panos)

Note: there are a few rookies still to be elevated, so the whole make up may change before Round 1

You need to consider the weekly loss of points playing 2 rookies (if they get games) vs say a Mummyberger or Nicnatilands combo.

I reckon you could be 60 - 80 points down each and every week from the get go.

Would prefer at least one premium ruck in your team.

The rest looks good but maybe you're starting 60-80 behind as I suggested.

timtim

Yes the rucks will be 60-80 points down in comparison to 2 premium rucks (or 1 premium and 1 mid)

However the stacked DEF and FWD line should more than make up for it, ie: Broughton and Petrie at D5 and F5??

The plan would be to run the gauntlet or the first few weeks and then upgrade Redden/Rowe as quickly as possible

I should add I'm going purely for the league win this year.

Id rather you pick some midpricers tbh. I just see it as a weaker version of GnR.5 non ruck rookies using this isnt the best situation imo. But good luck.

Tim are you aware that Bock will miss the first two games?

Backs are slightly week i would replace Bock and Wilkes I would downgrade both of these to two other rookies look at Tomlinson as he gives DPP value but watch the nab cup games before deciding
Mids Very strong. I wouldn't  downgrade anyone here.
Rucks are very weak you will lose about 120 pts here if you go with 4 rookie rucks.
FWDS Petrie is not in many teams so is a unique pick but if you want to strengthen your rucks either he or bock goes.

I give your team a 6.5/10

timtim

Hmmm yes. Thanks for the reminder about Bock

Thanks for the feedback guys - would still really like to make it work, but will have to see...

You don't have too much room to upgrade by having so many premium mids so early.

If you take 1-2 out upgrade your rucks, you will be able to upgrade to premium mids later on.

Your team is a short term win, long term loss
