Basically Contador is gone for a while seeing as the court found he had intaken a potentially performance enhancing drug stripping him of his 2010 tour de france title to one of the schleck brothers.

Good news in terms of Evans' chances at this years Tour with such a strong team and one hurdle gone  :)

i don't get why Cadel doesn't get the nod for the year he came second to Contador (though maybe my memory's failing me?? you have to excuse me, i'm getting old ...  ;)) then?

From what I understand they tested him after he won and it was positive, but he denied it, and now that it has been proven they are backdating all his wins to then and taking them away.
