Zac Dawson leaving us  (St Kilda) for Fremantle is the gift that just keeps on giving IMHO.

If it opens up a genuine starting position for a rookie in the saints side, and given McQualter is gone and Gwilt is recovering from a big injury i would expect Wilkes to get solid game time.

Points output is a different matter i guess

Dawson might be a dud but how many full backs avg 70+?? i doubt he will be a playmaker because there is gilbert, fisher and goddard running out of defense.

when he was at the eagles was averaging a bit over 60. new environment and a bit more mature why couldnt he average 70? even if he only averaged 60 his js is pretty good so you could hold on to him for a while?

The question marks will be all over the game plan? Wilkes/Dempster would normally do the negating roles to allow, Goddard, Fisher etc. to find space... having said that, his JS and price means he could make some cash before the bye even if he averages 50-60, there isnt as much risk, but the reward isnt as great either

I think it's reasonable. In his second game few years back took a few contested marks on cloke. Will play defense but saints defenders e.g. Goddard and fisher seem to hold out and mark. Wait to see if he does similarin NAB cup.

From my calculations he would around the bye time, but it is a little subjective

I can't see him averaging over 70 but his js is good. Apparently he'll be a swingman.
