Who is really worried about the byes this year?

barrrr if your not in the top 2000 by that stage i wouldn't worry about the byes! just drop a league game and win the rest, dont think it will be the dif to top 8 or not

if u have a cash league or something, then i wouldnt worry about byes full stop.
  and true by rd.11 you'll know if ya still in the running to win the lot or not..
in saying that i think the rankings will change alot between rd.11 and rd.14, with peeps who get a bad run through the bye rounds, remember aswell the 2 donuts are only if all your bench players who are meant to play actually play,  and we all know how rare that is

I guess i'll have to see where i'm sitting with the rankings, and worry about it then. Just wish they got rid of byes all together! Nothing but a pain in the ass...

If you watch your backline wisely for the rd 13 bye then you should be right.

As with many of the other replies, I too have thought it toooo hard to get the team splits right to have zero donuts.  As we all know, DT/SC throws up unexpected hurdles so you can't truly expect to have player A peak by round B to then trade in player C who has is either on the bubble, bottomed out or is from the optimal team.

You won't even know who your opponents are for R11-13 until the first full lockout so you could get
  1  3 x turbo charged teams over these rounds, each peaking against you
  2  3 x decimated teams giving you an easy run
  3  3 x evenly matched teams for tough encounters
  4  a mix of the 3

Put simply all the strategy you are looking into may be for nought until you know who you'll be playing.

I'm hoping for 2 wins and will conserve trades unless in the sh1t in my league.  Trades come finals time are GOLD!! ;)

+1 and you only have enough trades to get through with the 2 donuts, so anyone benched or injuers is an extra donut. You can and should plan to get the minimum of 2 (without dpp rucks), but it could be and probably will be total carnage.
