Hi guys,

What does everyone think about the above three all getting regular games this season?

I'm thinking of slotting them in forward positions 5, 6 and 7 in my team.

All have shown in the past that they can have a good season and are all just over the $220,000 mark so very cheap.

Thoughts?

porps - 100% should be in your team
Byrnes - 25% should be in your team
Macaffer - 15% should be in your team

I'd only have one of these three in my team, based on price/structure and value.

havent considered macaffer at all yet but porp has been in every team ive toyed with & byrnes has made it into some, would like byrnes but only if he fits into structures,if panos saad & others priced lower all come up early he wont get in,but he may if several of the cheapies dont look the goods

Risky to take all 3, especially with the job security.. Byrnes was in and out of the Geel side last season, as for Macaffer he seems the type that is injury prone.. Another value forward that I would throw in that mix is Jarred Moore from Sydney, I can see him playing a big role for the swans next season. Priced @ $229k, he could be a good cash cow (possible keeper)

Maca24

I also like Jarrad Moore. Could make some nice cash  8)

Don't think Brynes is in Geelong's first teams plans anymore & only there as injury back-up (and I say that as a mad-keen Cats fan - I think the younger players like Christensen, Duncan, Menzel, S.Motlop, Smedts have/will all go past him).
Porps WAY too injury-prone to even consider for a second - his shoulders hold in their sockets by hopes and dreams more than anything else! And he's only played 1 full season out of a possible 6... Don't go there!
I've toyed with the idea of Macaffer - was briefly in one of my plan teams - but I fear he may be injury-prone & may or may not even be in the plans of Bucks (or even in the Pies' best 28-30 players!)
Jarred Moore is an interesting one, but not sure...

Not really liking this price range for the forwards, but if I was forced to choose, I might look at Byrnes, esp. if the Cats get any preseason injuries to small running/quick players...

Definitely the Porpus. Wouldn't touch either of the other two.

Few have mentioned Jared Moore though, i'll be seriously considering him.

Certainly gets paper thin in the <250K range.

Purple 77

Porpus is a better option than other young, debuting kids, thats with anyone at porps age.
Already a proven regular in adelaide and has a ready made body, unlike 90% of draftees. I will be picking porpus over a young promising fella if that situation arises.

The Bomber

I'd swing Porps way...

I agree that Byrnes is probably not in the cats starting line up any more.

Macaffer is potentially injury prone, haven't really seen much of him. But Buck's is supposedly changing things at Collingwood no doubt which could find macaffer in the team or completely lost...Bit of a gamble...

Porps is i guess injury prone, over exaggerated by a lot of people, but if he can get back to the same standard as 08 and around there your a legend...

Porps is the Higgins of 2012, Higgins start wasnt the best but by the end of the season he wasnt too bad...
