What are everyones opinions on tom hawkins this year? potential break out year, did show huge signs of what he is capable of in the finals last year against top opposition, what do you reckon, potential bargain?

no hawkins is pretty  much a certifiable sc dud. while he does have the occasional big game that gets every talking he repeatedly disappears and i believe only maintians his spot to the general strength of past geelong teams.

he had a little purple patch for 20 minutes in the grand final last year that all so no stay right away

Ive picked him at the start of a season twice before....I mean....with all the time that the pig skin spends in the Girlong fwd line youd think he would go great guns....but he dont.

In the GF his opponent had a flat tyre so he did get it a bit there in the 3rd quarter.

Id definately wait to see some consistancy at least until the bye rounds

I was just about to post the exact same topic. He was very impressive in the latter half of the season, taking some nice grabs and kicking a few bags. Im thinking that perhaps its going to be his breakout year. Maybe he's got the confidence and the belief around him to take things to the next level, or find some consistency at least.
At his starting price, its very tempting. I just don't want to make the same mistake so many have before me.

Not even on my radar. Better off with the likes of Giansiracusa, Riewoldts and Didak before him...not that I'd get them either.

With all the geelong rucks down, he might get a good run-around. On my radar

Scott has said they want Hawkins to play forward only. They've got Stephenson and West and Vardy will be back as will Simpson. So not much rucking for him i reckon. He needs to show consistency. A few great games (allbeit including last year's G.F) is not enough for me.
