Rookie ruck approach is fine but you wouldnt do it to get an extra prem mid. You gotta make money and midrookies are the best cash cows. Looking at your team, your fwds are v.weak. Ditch thomas in mids, change pendles to swan and use the cash to bring in some fwd firepower. Your backs need tweaking too - need another premium back there.
A great base to work from though. Nice work.

Ok so what ive done is ditched Pendles and replaced with Tom Mitchell (may change pending round 1 teams) I wanted to keep Thomas as I think he will be unique and also in the top 7 mids this year (just my opinion could be wrong). then ive replaced Couch with Cloke, a bit left field but I think Cloke is going to have a massive one this year! Ive also upgrade Jordan Lewis to Buddy.

So now it reads

much better side after changes...
my team consists of 4 prem def and i think you need them from the start as quality defenders drop away very quick
taken a few risks with duffman, riewoldt and christensen
imo christensen is another year off, just like dangerfiel before this year and the other too are a bit of a risk, but then again so is half the defenders and forwards out there... maybe try dropping christensen down and getting another prem def

I think what Piccollo was getting at was you've got 1 to many premiums in the midfield because this is where the best cash cow potential is.
You could get rid of Dal or Murf for a rookie & make your forward line stronger by upgrading Danger, Roo or Lewis to Franklin, Stevie J or Pav or even get a premium 2nd ruck.
