Can we continue to have McIntosh & Goldstein in the same team? Do other supporters think thats it working??

Last year Goldy obviously dominated but with HMac return he has seriously struggled. I honestly dont think we can keep playing them both in the same side. I would prefer Goldy as one out ruck...

Thoughts??

Goldy is better around the ground and up front for mine. I don't think Hmac fits in any more.

Honestly I like it and I think we should stick with it.

Today is a hard one, the weather and the smaller ground means that we didn't need another tall, hence why Goldy got subbed off, but at Etihad where it's always dry I think it works. It is noticeable that Goldy has struggled and Petrie hasn't been playing like he was last year, and HMac could be blamed for that. But HMac has played well and it's hard to tell whether Goldy and Petrie would have had better performances if he wasn't there.

HMac and Goldy are both great ruckmen, and they could really destroy teams if they both got going. But maybe one of them needs to be dropped :-\ I'd prefer not at the moment though.

as Rb said im fine with the ruck combo as it is, however its showing how good a ruck Hmac is and teams should have put some serious offers in for him. A good tall back, rebounding half flanker would have been nice but you cant drop Hmac he is doing really good, if anything i would drop goldy at this stage ahead of him (woulnd never drop either though)

Goldstein looked very lost at times on the small ground whereas Mcintosh seemed to be able to trouble us a fair amount. Getting used to a new role/sharing isn't as easy as it is always made out but I think NM should stick with it.

64 Hitouts in reserves, what role do you think goldy should play this year.

Yeah Goldstein will be back. They are versing Cox and Nait so it will be difficult and scoring will be down on Hmac IMO

roo boys!

Yep against Cox and NicNat we need to be playing both ruckmen I think. West Coast are a typically tall team and we have to try and defend against that.

I thought Petrie was going to stay up forward to accommodate Goldstein and HMac....

Not when one of the above is not in good form and not fulfilling their role! Goldy was struggling for form, so he was dropped. Petrie is more than capable of the number 2 ruck slot, but when Goldy/HMac are both in the team he will stay forward pretty much all of the time, maybe a bit of ruck work.
