i'm undisided on this one and am seeing plenty of teams posted up have left him out.

will you be picking him?

or do you think the money you save by picking a 120-90k rookie will be better spent else where?

Zombie2.5

You can save money and get a 100k ish rookie who might average about the same for 70k less meaning you make more money and also have the extra 70k for other positions

Thats pretty much the only reason no one will pick him. Cheap GWS midfielders in Shiel and James McDonald are better options IMO

Yeah, I'm a bit worried about the dreaded vest for all 18/19 yea old draftees this season.
May be that I'm being overly cautious but I've tried to select mostly mature first (or second) year players (i.e. Caddy, Clifton, Polec, Horsley).

i won't be going near james mcdonald, the option for me i'm thinking is clifton or coniglio?

DT Gun

Best rookies in the mids for GWS in my opinion are:

J Macdonald
S Clifton
Coniglio/shiel

Having said that i put shiel in front of coniglio just because he is 70k cheaper for a similar output.

I expect J Mac to be solid and average 75-85, and Clifton to be similar to Stanley from 2011.

+1 DTGUN

for me

1. Shiel
2. Clifton
3. Coniglio (sure would be #1 but we must consider cost )
4. Mcdonald (has to be in the side if he is to play he will rack up points)

There are otehr good options but they are dpp so can be put in up fwd like treloar...

Definitely Shiel, maybe Clifton and don't forget Miles, he might be pretty handy. I'm undecided on the amount of games McDonald will play. And the argument of "they picked him for a reason" doesn't stand because he's there primarily as a coach. Some NAB cup viewing in my opinion
