Age : 24
Height : 185cm
Weight : 82kg
Recruited from : Central Districts (SANFL)
AFL Club: Fremantle
Status : Rookie Listed

After 5 years in the SANFL  at the leauges top club (doggies), Lee Spurr has been unucky for the past few years. In his third attempt to be draftted it took until the pre-season rookie draft for his dream to come true. He is a hard luck story after having been promised a list spot by many clubs but failing to deliver. Add to that missing what would have been the winning goal (Centrals ended up losing to Eagles narrowly). He is a versatile addition to the up and coming Dockers who were riddled by injury in 2011, able to play in the middle, off the wing, half back or even in the back pockets. While currently he is rookie listed he was drafted as a rookie as cover, especially after the injury dramas the club suffered last year. While his DT potential is unknown to date it will al depend on the months leading up to the start of the AFL season next year. His chances of getting promoted, how he has coped with an AFL pre-season and if he can sneak his way into one of the best backlines in the country.

FG RATING: 7/10

i gotta say i like this guy, fremantle are pretty hot on him saying that they think that he wont need any time to settle in, he averaged 22 possessions and 7 marks a game at SANFL level last year and freo reckon they almost gonna pick him up in the national draft so were pretty chuffed to get him with first pick of rookie. hoping for a quick upgrade off the rookie list.

Miss Pies

Maybe string these together Fyfe? Or well the mods can.

Ziplock

that's an average over just over 70 DT ppg, presuming a 1:1 K:HB ratio

Colliwobblers

seen a lot of interest in spurr, would you pick him for your team if he is still on the rookie list not promoted come rnd 1?

Fyfe_gun

I am looking at starting two rookies in def so if he isnt promoted by round 1 it would probs be safer to pick a player who will play early on. As much as i would ove to a good DT is head over heart. I see him in a similar boat to Lower last year, he is first in line for promotion

nostradamus

l've been watching this guy for a while.....but willl only get a run in my team when promoted off the rookie list

PowerMan

could be potential downgrade target mid season hopefully.

Lee Spurr is a 24-year-old old former Queenslander who has spent the last five seasons playing for Central Districts in the SANFL, winning three premierships. He has been a very consistent performer at SANFL level over the last few years. He is a super courageous player who is very strong overhead. He has the ability to gut run and find plenty of the ball across half-back and has also impacted on games as a midfielder and at half-forward. He is an outstanding character. Lee averaged 22.3 touches and 7.3 marks a game at SANFL League level.

His price tag is $107 800 , He is suppose to be a mature age rookie. He sounds like a very handy player as people are saying he could be the next Nick Lower. But he is still a rookie and needs to be promoted.

Start with him ? or Downgrade later on ?

Cicjose

downgrade if at all

not convinced he will get games early

Colliwobblers

until he is promoted off the rookie list he has to be a downgrade target but i have heard and read good things about him
