Just wondering what people think.
For a rookie spot/bench spot who would you pick?

Elliott Kavanagh from Essendon or Koby Stevens from West Coast

As a West Coast fan i'll have to say Elliot K.
I love Kobes but i just dont see him getting many games in our side. Otherwise he'd average 80+ easy.
Elliot K.

with Kavanagh i'm not exactly sure what scoring potential he has because he did sit out on most of last season, where as kobe stevens couldn't crack a game mainly because kerr/priddis/shuey are the starting onballers. Meaning it is likely he will play half foward, and we saw that with ebert playing in that position his scoring output wasn't as high to his previous season when he was in the midfield.

I would go Kobe over kavanagh if he plays midfield easily, because he is quite the prolific ball winner. Though if not i reckon kavanagh because they will be scoring roughly the same and kavanagh is cheaper, meaning more value for your dollar

actually just checked kobys price, definitely koby if he gets a gig

Yeah i was leaning towards koby, but only if he gets a gig. I guess Nab Cub and more of pre-season will tell us.

The AFL website has a good article on Koby Stevens.

+ 1 if he kills it in the NAB then possibly

Isn't Essendon on record as saying they were after a skillful inside middy who would slot straight into the team?  Gotta give Kavanaugh a big chance of getting early games at least, if his NAB cup form is up to scratch.

Stevens locked in my side.
Looks super fit at the moment

Kavanagh would be behind Heppel if they're looking at slotting a silky midfielder into the centre.

Koby was likened to Joel Selwood in his style of play, hard at it nature, hard work ethic, and is a proven accumulator at WAFL level even when injured so you'd lock him into the Eagles' top 30 on the back of that AFL.com article.  West Coast have tried to get him into the team before even when he wasn't  100% they rate him highly like they did with Shuey & now that he's having a good preseason I'll definitely be checking his NAB form, if its anything decent I'd lock him in for sure.

Looking at both at this stage, won't make my mind up until after the NAB of course. but If I had to choose one or the other it would be Stevens
