I had this bloke penciled in at the start of the year. I hope he holds of till 2010 so he can be as cheap as possible. Maybe some Bomber supporters can tell us something (stantonLEGEND/Prospector_1/footycool & company.

Might play this year: While Essendon fans may not think this, there will be some fantasy coaches that would prefer it if Gumbleton took his time and came back to play in 2010. With a low fantasy price again, he would be a popular selection on fantasy benches.

If he does come back in the final month of this season, he could be someone to trade onto a team and to have as an emergency forward on the bench, as he could free up money if a more valuable player was sent out.

I've followed this guy's injury-plagued career for awhile now.  The impression I get from interviews on bomber site is that they will not risk him this year, no matter how great the temptation. Let's face it, he's not even ready for the seconds yet.  They want to get a solid pre-season into him with the hope that he'll be firing by round one next year.  From the few times I've seen him play he's definitely in the mold of Kurt Tippet, and will probably take a couple years, like Tippett, to shed the baby fat and start building muscle.  I think he's got enormous potential, but I wouldn't pencil him in for next year just yet. The two from Essendon to follow for next year are definitely Pears and Hurley, both will be premium one day.
