Hello,

After much deliberation and tweaking I've put together a team I'm happy with (at this current moment)

Backs: Goddard, Deledio, Adcock, Heppell, Ellis, Mohr, Spurr (Morris, Smedts)

Mids: Pendlebury, Ablett, Rockliff, Barlow, Coniglio, Shiel (Zorko, Brown)

Rucks: Sandilands, Luenberger (Giles, Stephenson)

Forwards: Franklin, Pavlich, Martin, Sidebottom, Tomlinson, Pfeiffer, Saad (Treolar, Walsh)

Cash Left: $141,600

Here are some reasons I've chosen these players:

Brisbane: Adcock and Rocky: Smashing it in preseason training, might be room for Browny if his NAB is good.
Adcock should hold up all season long*snicker*. Luey Luey will only get better.

Fremantle: Barlow and Sandilands: Flying at the moment according to the Dockers. Pav is super consistent.

Richmond: Ellis, Morris and Martin: Killed in the Tan run, might find room for Houli and Conca should they show the goods in the NAB Cup.
Bit worried about having so many Richmond boys in DEF but their first half of the draw means their defence will get smashed so it could prove beneficial.

I'm sitting on the 141K at the moment as it’s nice to have room for any potential quick upgrades or should injury strike.
Too early to say what Lake, Porps and others will throw up numbers-wise in the NAB, so the breathing room is nice.

Happy for any constructive criticism and/or questions.

thats a strong team!

Not too sure about the back line, second year players (like heppell in this case) usually, emphasis on usually, slump in their second year so im not sure if he's a good idea. You have got enough money to upgraded heppel to say heath shaw, who will provide consistent high scores.

Very nice midfield! I do agree with you barlow will have a year like his debut (minus the leg)

Very good rucks

Sidebottom is an interesting one that may very well pay off. Not too sure about tomlinson, GWS have plenty of youngins that will make it hard for him. If you picked him for his DPP status, IMO i think billie smedts is a better choice, also cheaper.

Or you could down grade heppel to grimes, dwongrade sandy to say mcevoy, who like leuy is on the rise, and use all that excess money to upgrade tomlinson to jonathon brown....

Anyway, hope that was useful

Colliwobblers

Great defence- i think heppell will not slump, he has beefed up over the off and pre season and looks roaring to go.
Adcock as long as he has the fit key defensive players behind him and can play his prefered style of DT friendly game is also a good cchoice and good value.
Goddard and delidio no brainers and so is conca IMO
mids - spot on
rucks - spot on
sidebottom playing in the midfield this year has been training with the midfield group all preseason taking tips from swan, think he might just be slightly worth having!!!!

VGood team good choices good money left surprised you have that much money left given the depth of your team i'm dubious even :)

Ringo

Agree very strong team but surprised that you still have that much cash left as well with that Team.
Can not fault over all and will be a great team if you pick the right rookies.
9.5/10 if within salary cap as a bit dubious.

Arre you relying on some rookies being keepers? as you have 8 starting!

there is 16 trades for upgrades and if you are still in it overall you will no doubt use 6 during the 3 bye rds

thats 22 trades, best hope for no injurys

having said that i can't knock the players you have picked but with what needs to be done to get a full team of premiums i couldn't rate it almost 10/10.

Ringo

He may be doing the upgrades during byes to strengthen team as part of his 3 trades so may have some up his sleeve. If all his trades strengthen team very solid team come finals time with some trades in bank as well.  Also did a calculation on the team and it is correct with $141k left so cash kitty as well.
Well done and I stick by my rating you only have to select the right cash cows and upgrade to an extremely solid team.
One Rookie I would seriously consider if not on your radar is Clifton as he is mature aged with GWS and may not get rotated as much.

Thanks very much for the comments guys, very much appreciated.

Everything could change once with NAB swings into gear but I'm happy with the premium choices and mature age rookie picks.

Not long now till we get under way. Pumped.

Nice team mate. Can't knock any of your selections.

Starting off with 14 prems and having a bit of cash in the kitty could be the way to go this year!

:D

This is a real guns/rookies team.

As a result your starting 3 rookies in both backs and fwds, which in my opinion is a big risk and as Hippo alluded to, makes your upgrade strategy quite difficult.
Therefore I tihink you need to cull a premium in the backs and forwards ( maybe even rucks ) and look for a few mid pricers on the rise or players returning from injury to give you better balance.
