I was doing some xmas present shopping and came across an autobiography by Liam Jurrah. Can someone please explain to me how a young struggling player who has no achievemnets in AFL other than being drafted and has only been in the AFL for a few years can have an autobiography but retiring stars who have played for years don't even get one. What was the publisher thinking?

I laughed when Tadgh Kennelly came out with an Auto but Liam Jurrah, that isn't even worth a smile, it is just plain wrong. Nothing against him as a bloke or as a player but an auto deserves years and years of hard work

The Auto i believe is to show his journey into the AFL; meaning he talks about his background, the fact that he could barely speak English in his first season etc.

The book came out around June/July this year.  Its actually about the transition from Aboriginal Community to Melbourne.

I agree that it is way to early for a book.

I disagree with you. IIRC they made a documentary on 3 young Indigenous players (cant remember who was in it) but they werent exactly stars, and yet everyone loved it. I would say the same idea was had here.

well, its sort of different to a veteran's auto who has just retired, its not all about football. Like MTTY said, it is just about his transition from an aboriginal community to a football club. Could be an interesting read......
