Not very convincing series by the aussies, the number one odi side in the world.

Against a practically showere Indian side and inconsistent Sri Lanka side they should've won by a lot more. When a real test comes like an England or South Africa they'll crumble unless they step it up.

TheMailman

I think all three teams showed why they are rated so highly at different points in the competition

I think Australia was easily the most consistant in its performaces however, closely followed by SL.

Jukes

Both India and Sri Lanka were inconsistent, however India only really showed what they were capable of in one match (pretty obvious which one...) and Sri Lanka showed it sometime but looked very weak at points like we saw today. Australia were also not that consistent however more then the other two by a fair bit.

I'll paint the picture of our taxi ride home....the driver was Sri Lankan.

He says to us gracefully that he was happy that we (Sri Lanka) didn't lose to India in a final, there is no disgrace in losing to the most beautiful country, Australia.

Now, we'd had a few, or maybe seventeen...so maybe our homeward directions weren't specific and we said something like 'we'd like to go home, through Melbourne St or O'Connell St, it's up to him as long as we can grab a six pack for the ride home and we'll flick you an extra $20.'

He said 'I cannot take you to Melbourne, it is cheaper to catch plane, no?'

I gave him a tap on the shoulder and asked how long he'd been in Adelaide, he said 'two weeks'.

*Rolls Eyes at the meter which was beginning to rack up numbers like a pokie machine.

Ok so if we cant get booze on the way home, can we oredr a pizza and swing by and get it on way home to save on delivery  ::) - good logic there! Then I remeber we are going to Victor on Saturday and we will be getting puizza from Marcz - aRooster has to watch his carbs. And I cancel the pizza swing by.

Better to get home, Pidge on the couch snoring like a tractor, quick FTP check and my saintly wife waiting upstairs.

Goodnight and goodnight.

*sorry I didnt catch you PB, we was in Memebrs and the Sri Lankan band kept on moving around, didnt spot you.

Love how bias the media is toward the Australia cricket team in this country. When they lose, it's only shown for a few seconds on the news and it's a fair way down the list on foxsports.com/cricket. Meanwhile if they win they do a full 4 minute wrap-up of the game on Sunrise and it holds the top 3 articles on foxsports.com/cricket.

Brilliant. I think they should film that story and show it every Christmas Roost! Very entertaining.

And don't get me started on Taxi-drivers :(

Cicjose

i use taxi drivers all the time (i dont drive)

the only problem i have is having to calculate the fare myself because as i have vouchers they have strict rules to abide by

The way taxis should work is this - You get in, tell the driver where you are going, and they say it will cost you $X, would you like to continue?

Annoys me when you pay for taxi drivers mistakes or bad luck :(

It really depends what slant of media you watch.

I remember 2-3 years ago the late Peter Roebuck had plenty of scathing articles on the CA team

To be fair, they did play the World Cup champions and the World no. 4's. Still a pretty good result.

Sri Lanka's only downfall was there fielding and slow start, which can be blamed on not getting any practice in before playing. After the 1st round i think they were pretty consistent, bar the one innings. India just had a shocking tour, and they were right out of it by the end of the series.

In the end, the right team won and it was a very good series, great for ODI cricket. :D
