Geelong have a very old list, and since generally the longer you are in football, the more you get paid... they'd be very tight. (Of course they are under or no the salary cap, but Geelong wouldn't have any real room).

Good point about Presti Usman, but even considering that, that's still probably $2m that was cleared up.

I guess we will never really know how the clubs handle it. Has collingwood Back or front ended all thier deals for their stars? If its back ended how are they going to afford them in the future. If its front ended how are they affording it now? $2m is a significant amount doubt it would be that high maybe in between that and $1.5m but when you have a young list like you do your going to be eating into that straight away through natural progression.

Collingwood would have to be right at the tip of their salary cap or there is some salary cap cheating/bullshower going on. They already won the Premiership and still had so many players resign and join them (Krakouer/Tarrant[Heard he accepted 100k a year])

But yeah, if they can afford to take on all these players then the league needs to rethink how it currently runs. Why would you want him anyway? He's a prancy girl who gets cheap kicks.

Don't forget that in the last 3 or 4  years, Pies have had a lot of senior players retire/leave (Rocca, Buckley, O'Bree, Medhurst, Presti, Clement, Fraser, Lockyer etc etc)....all players would have been on some decent coin....the young team they have now probably have a (relatively) low contract (compared to what they could get on the open market)....it's the NEXT contract they sign that's going to cause Collingwood trouble....look at how Essendon imploped after their dominant 2000 season and couldn't fit key players in the salary cap......probably the biggest off field issue Collingwood will have over the next few years

Well, at least Gold Coast and GWS will have a half decent team in a few years. Collingwoods younger players should be easy pickings.

Well Vince re-signed with the crows...
