Collingwood FC doesn't have many players who have played in more than 300 games but when I saw this list of players who have played more than 250 I was immediately struck by what a legendry group it is.

The only name who is not an out and out Champion is probably Scottie Burns and we would probably happily bestow that title on him just because we like him so much.

Tony Shaw 1978â€"94           313
Gordon Coventry 1920â€"37   306
Wayne Richardson 1966â€"78  277
Len Thompson 1965â€"78      268
Scott Burns 1995â€"2008       264
Jock McHale 1903â€"20          261
Nathan Buckley 1994â€"2007  260
Gavin Brown 1987â€"2000      254
Harry Collier 1926â€"40           253
Lou Richards 1941â€"55          250
Peter Daicos 1979â€"93         250

Not a bad list, I think only Hawthorm and dare I say it Carlton can vaguely compete in thsi space. North's list is not bad but not at this level.

PowerBug

Is this another reason why Collingwood is better than Carlton?

Taz just played his 250th also, but not all for the Pies obviously.

Yes, a great list indeed, and with the exception of Burns, everyone on in the Pies team of century and Hall of fame (correct me if I'm wrong)

Buckley. Very versatile, superb, and would compliment team balance nicely.

AFEV

I agree.
A lot of the others would struggle in todays game.

8-6 Suited

Doubt it. Gavin Brown is the hardest player I have ever seen. A machine. He would fit right in in this game as it is now. So would Scotty Burns but I think it has to be Bucks even though its realllllly hard to pick one of these legends of the game.

Imagine Daics sitting in the forward pocket (remembering that he spent much of his career in the centre so tank would be ok).

Also the question is would we adjust our team structure for the 2nd greatest goalkicker the game has ever seen, Nuts Coventry?

I know it is all fantasy but it is a lovely fantasy.  :)

I did consider Coventry over Dawes.... But thought Buckley would add more

Master Q

Buckley + Pendles  :o
