This kinda stuff has been going on forever though, and really, nothing we say or do is really going to change it unless one of you builds a new AFL stadium, buys Chanel 7 and Foxtel and buys the AFL.

Foxtel basically did buy the AFL which is great for football, we can now watch games without waiting an hour and watching extended ad breaks!

I gotta agree with most of what has been said in this thread. But the main thing that pisses me off is this:

AFL bending over to Collingwood because they make them more money. If this was a sport like it's meant to be and not a business we would have a fair draw.

This is what I agree with and this is what makes me angry. In the end I don't really mind about the other stuff atm as it can't really be fixed (playing everyone twice etc...) but this can be changed. And needs to be.

I still think this system that the AFL came up with as ONE of their ideas is by far the best:

First 17 Rounds: Everyone plays everyone once
Rounds 18-22: Comp slit in 3. Top 6 play off for top four positions, Middle 6 play for last finals spot, Bottom 6 play for draft picks

I really love this idea, really opens up the competition and would largely solve the tanking issue (which despite what Demetriou thinks, exists.)
