North Melbournes Finest

Cunnington/Anthony/Speight/Ziebell/Swallow/Wells/Cam Richardson (Hybrid)/Adams/Atley/Bastinac/Garlett/Greenwood/Harper/Macmillan

You can account for injuries maybe taking away 2-4 players at each stage each year. But that still leaves us with too many midfielders, all of these blokes that I just named (bar Macmillan) would be getting a game each week. I've got 3 questions.

1. How are we eventually going to retain them all under the salary cap
2. Will they want out because some of them aren't getting picked every week
3. Should we of taken Darling instead of Atley?

I know Atley has the potential to be amazing in the years to come and we did lack pace, but was a key developing forward something we really needed much more apposed to another midfielder? I mean Drew/Edwards are 29 and 27 respectively. At best probably another 3-4 years each. We have all these amazing midfielders coming through, are they going to have guys to kick to? Aaron Black doesn't seem to be coming along like the Kangaroos facebook page seems to think. I don't really rate 10 touches and 1 goal in the magoos. Then you look who else is a key developing forward, Hansen? I don't know about that. The only other one I can see is Pedersen, but we seem to be playing him like we used to with Petrie, anywhere we needed a to fill a hole, he'll go there during the game.

1. sadly i can see 3 options either are mid is really strong but we fall down in the forward and backline. They dont imporveo to the level they are capable of so arent worth as much or some of them leave.

2. Very worried with GWS coming up if i was anthony i would start looking at other teams even if he is in contract.

3. Yes even though atley is capable of being a beter player darling would fit our structure much more. Rucks and MIds will probably be one of the strongest in a couple of years. It means nothing if we cant score goals though.

roo boys!

Some of them would probably want out, and could probably go if we can't keep them all under the salary cap.

Zarts

If I was anthony I would probably be damn close to cracking it and leaving.

a lot of good players, yet to be seen if they will be stars. I see Swallow,Wells, Ziebell, Atley and Bastinac as stars the rest have not impressed me at all Cunnington is the only one i feel can prove me wrong and Anthony is just a mid-range player aswell IMO.
So thats 5 possibly 6 gun mids personally dont think its enough to form a dominant team. look at Geelongs list when they were on top of their game. Ablett, Bartel, Selwood, Corey, Chapman, Johnson, Ling, Enright & Kelly all capable of playing and starring in the mids. then there is Collingwood now. Swan, Pedlebury, Didak, Ball, Thomas, Shaw, Beams & Sidebottom.

Dont underestimate the need for alot of superstar mids

do you like the look of harper i havent seen many of his games but i have heard good things about him. Listed as following this week so should be interesting to see what he does.  Plus i rate greenwood also. But you are right those 5 look like they will be leading our mid in the next few years.

roo boys!

I love Harper, as I see him developing into something very big. Now I could well be proven wrong, but I think he will be a future leader.
