With the St.Kilda bye sorted, TheSquadOfJets should look something like this:

Deledio, Gibbs, Shaw, Hurn, Heppell, Duigan, L Thompson (Goddard, Batchelor, B Jacobs)
Boyd, Pendlebury, Priddis, Judd, Ablett, I Smith (Harris, Hibberd, Mzungu)
Cox, Z Smith (Sandilands, Keefe)
Pavlich, O'Keefe, J Riewoldt, Yarran, Rioli, Darling, T Lynch*GCS* (N Riewoldt, Matera, Richardson)

Definitely starting Duigan and Heppell as they are solid scorers.
Which of L Thompson, Batchelor and Jacobs to start? And which one Emergency?
And which out of I Smith, Hibberd, Harris and Mzungu to start? And which one Emergency?
Sandi still out with injury.
Darling is a solid scorer, so he starts. Matera was injured but may be returning so have the EMG on him atm.

Boyd captain against GCS surely... Judd VC against WCE?

League positions are: 1st, 8th, 6th, 8th & 1st.
All my opponents are general threats to the premiership therefore expecting some big and close games.
2nd in my school.

Got $447,300 in the bank, and ranked 6,323 overall. Averaging 2,149.77, and team valued at $12,057,300.
Got 11 trades left.

Definitely have the money and trades to do a trade this week.
Worth looking at Buddy or Swan in the near future?
Montagna is officially off my radar.
Not many options what so ever left in the backline. Midfield still has Swan, and A Swallow to complete that line. Not to bother about a Z Smith downgrade any time soon... Franklin, Harvey and Stevie J the only remaining possible upgrade targets.

L Thompson and Darling reached their prime yet? Start shipping off Duigan, Heppel or Yarran to prepare for SC finals? Keep C Richardson and Keefe?

Any advice with Trades, Captain, Line-Up, or any general comment would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance, Luigi  :)

Very nice looking team, I think you are in a strong position with the amount of trades left and coin at your disposal. I would look at bringing in Swan, Sylvia, Fisher and Birchall or Suckling if money doesn't permit for Birchall in the next few weeks at the expense of Harris, Yarran, Duigan and Thompson leaving you with a very strong team and maybe only leaving a trade or 2 to bring in Franklin.

AndrewY

Darling / Matera to Cloke for a forward line POD

Ringo

With regards to starting wait till team annoincements as problem may be solved. Batchleor did not play last weekFor your mids I would toss a coin between Mzungu Smith and Hibberd if all named all around the same scoring potential but the trick is picking the right one.
I would definitely be looking at Fisher next week after Saints bye to strengthen your back line. (No more Saints bye and he is the gun defender)
Look at Swan this week and if he shows no sign of injury then grab.  Price should fall a little as he has a b/e from memory.
If doing a trade this week I would consider Darling to Sylvia who has bottomed out and will probably return consistent 100+ scores for rest of year (B/e 72 this week)

What about trading Harris- Barlow, if he fires this week?

Deledio, Gibbs, Shaw, Hurn, Heppell, Duigan, L Thompson (Goddard, Batchelor, B Jacobs)
Boyd, Pendlebury, Priddis, Judd, Ablett, Mzungu (Harris, Hibberd, I. Smith)
Cox, Z Smith (Sandilands, Keefe)
Pavlich, O'Keefe, J Riewoldt, Yarran, Rioli, Darling, T Lynch*GCS* (N Riewoldt, Matera, Richardson)

11 trades, 450k, for

* 1-2 backs (Newman, Adcock - will be dirt cheap soon after finger surgery almost direct swap with Heppel)
* 1 mid (Swan)
* 2-3 forwards (Franklin is a MUST, Sylvia, Goodes, Boomer, even Petrie is an option)
* that leaves 5 trades left come finals

For captaincy, imo, the top candidate this year have been - not in this order btw.
1. Boyd
2. M. Murphy (will poll very well in the Brownlow imo).
3. Ablett.

Seeing you have 1. and 3. you can't go wrong rotating between these two.  Its really a flip of the coin.  IMO, it is hard to make an argument against Ablett perma captaincy given the form he is in.

ROUND 14:

Matera > Sylvia, which leaves you having T. Lynch/Darling as an Emergency in the forwards.

Duigan/Batchelor > Newman VS Harris > Swan, this is a tough one.

Which will yield more points, Duigan & Swan vs Mzungu & Newman?  I wouldn't be concerned about any price increases from Swan, it won't be that much.

It wouldn't hurt to give Swan another week, to see how he goes.  The order in which you upgrade will be a coin flip here.

Hey thanks for the advice guys! Will more closely analyse after the teams are released.

@Andrew: Never really been a fan of Cloke and i think there are better forwards I don't have yet. Even though Cloke has no more byes, there are better options still IMO. But thanks for your input.
@BB: Don't think E Barlow is much of a gun, and isn't a keeper. But then I ask the question, any more downgrades needed?
@Ajjwell: What are your theories or reasoning behind Birchall or Suckling. Though already have Rioli and will eventually get Buddy.. Will Fisher keep up the good form and continue it even through St Kilda's poor form? Or will St Kilda fire again therefore the likes of Riewoldt and Joey stealing the points from Fisher that once used be his?
@Ringo: Wait a week, or Swan now? Same issue with Fisher as above. Is it now or never for Sylvia?
@CS: I think Boyd captain is a safe option. Sylvia definitely this week? And will any more downgrades be necessary to complete the suggested 6 trades? So Swan within the next couple of weeks, but which line therefore requires more attention? The backs or forwards?

Thanks a lot guys, follow up responses would be greatly appreciated :)

Like I said, just coin flip between Boyd & Ablett for like most of the season.  Both have strong cases for captaincy.

Honestly you can do either upgrade in the backs or mids.  Its very hard to predict how the rookies will go.

I suspect Mzungu & Newman might be stronger than Swan & Duigan, but who knows, Swan could smash it.

Fisher is a bit expensive now, and is not a high priority for you imo.

Ringo

Sylvia has bottomed out as he starts to drop the 32 from averages. You can wait if desired but he will not be any cheaper than at the moment.  Has a b/e 72 this week so will probably go up next week. Would wait the week for Swan has a highish B/e and unless he smashes it price will fall.  Also will allow to observe if over injury.

Luigi197

Therefore Newman and Sylvia for Duigan and Matera or Darling?
Or something different?

Will wait a week for Swan; and will think about Fisher when the time comes. Getting Buddy should all be about timing.

charliesheen

I would personally go Matera, at least it leaves you with some emergency options.

Newman & Sylvia or Swan & Sylvia

just go with your gutt on this one, theres no right or wrong.

Personally i would go newman/sylvia.

I like the hawks run home especially playing teams like power, doggies and suns in 3 of their last 4 matches, the game plan that they are following this year is a high possie style, mainly in the back half where they chip the ball around looking for an open man, this has been leading to some good scores for their players, especially in games they win which they will do more often than not from here on in.
As for the saints I don't think they will make the finals this year, they are to one dimensional going into the forward line and Nroo is in a massive form slump, Ross Lyon is too stubborn to play him on the wing to regain some touch and confidence and I believe this could be the only thing that would have an impact on Fisher's scores as he is getting alot of touches between the flanks in a rebounding role, which would diminish if Nroo was in a similar area of the ground

Will consider Fisher and any other Hawks players when the time comes, but thanks for your insight though AJJ :)

@CS: Duigan wont be playing, so he definitely is out for Newman. So in doing Matera to Sylvia, that would me leave me just over 200k.

Swan would be the next upgrade easily next week. Towards the end will get Buddy, when the time comes, to trade Yarran for Buddy for Finals? And when abouts should Heppel and Darling go?

charliesheen

I would keep Heppel for now, make it a very late upgrade if need be.

Yarran > Franklin at some stage makes sense to me.  You probably need another forward (that can cover the mids) after that, could be darling > didak, or someone else.

But just assess things week by week for now.  Callinan will be a useful downgrade target soon.

Luigi197

Cool 8) Thanks CS :D

Now eagerly awaiting the teams to come out.
I just hope Sylvia doesn't get injured...
