i'm considering trading Chris Knights to Adam Goodes (+$45,000) this week. Is this too much of a sideways trade based on stats?

Chris Knights
-avg 83.8pts
-highest 116pts
-lowest 43pts

Adam Goodes
-avg 93.4pts
-highest 129pts
-hightest 47pts

this is the week i decide whether Chris Knights is a 7th keeper or upgrade before the price changes (Knights has a high b/e)?
any opinions please?  (i have 15 trades left)

Im not entirely sure where you're getting your stats from mate, maybe you're going by last weeks stats but as of today:

Goodes is averaging 95 for the season, 103 in the last 5 rnds, 129 highest and 47 lowest. B/e of approx 100
Fixtures for the next weeks: rich, carl, col (at home), ade, gc, freo (at home), wb (at home)

Knights is averaging 81 for the season, 82 in the last 5 rnds, 116 highest and 43 lowest. B/e of approx 100
Fixtures for the next weeks: west coast (at home), wb, geel, syd, BYE, ess, stk

The way I see it is, goodes has a better run home and should outscore knights. Goodes should be able to ton it up this week but knights will loose value.  Im personally thinking about downgrading knights completely as he has served his purpose in my team and wand upgrade my final prem mid.The dilemma you have is you can keep knights who constantly averages around 75-80 and then upgrade other people in other lines to finish your time, or you can swing goodes in via mpp link (mid-fwd).. It just depends on what your other lines are..

I'm going to hold Knights even if he just becomes a very handy 8th forward unless I really NEED to move him on. If you have a rookie to upgrade to Goodes then he's a great option. Knights is going ok in general though has struggled when the Crows get flogged away but he's not alone there....you'll want that trade back later.

waiting for sylvia to drop for 2 weeks then doing knights-colin

Assuming you started with Knights, you probably didn't think he'd be a keeper all season. Sure, he's scoring well, but an upgrade to Goodes is the perfect use for Knights. I would do it without a second thought UNLESS I had two other, more urgent trades to make.

but surely you re-assess based on form? You can't just blindly stick with pre-season assumptions surely.....

Of course you do. But I think Goodes is that much better that it's still a good trade!

the one thing with goodes is he is a second half of the season specialist

+1
Once round 13 comes around, it's time for Goodes to shine!

i started with knights, yarran and petrie, with the hope one of the three could become my 7th forward.

yarran was traded out weeks ago for fyfe, while i downgraded knights to mzungu to upgrade bewick to selwood last round.

my plan was always to use them as higher valued cash cows, where i wouldnt need as much spare money to convert them into premiums.

my mids are currently swan, boyd, selwood, mitchell, bartel and krakouer (who will become pendles after the pies second bye) and my forwards goodes, sylvia, fyfe, franklin, stevie j, n roo and petrie.

as far as im concerned im very happy with that.
