I think I may have spent a bit much on the midfield and not enough on premium backs.  Also am unsure about having 3 essendon forwards in the same team...any suggestions?

Looks pretty good to me.  Plenty of things you could do differently but no glaring mistakes IMO.
Since you're on the other side of the world maybe you didn't hear Yarran rolled his ankle on the weekend?  Might still be ok but its worth keeping track of.

Lucas would be the only concern.

The thing that probably stands out the most to me is the amount of risky players you have who are mostly coming back from injury in Malceski, Houlihan, Raines, Haselby, Lucas, Higgins and Skipworth(not 100% if all these guys were injured 08 :) ).

Other thing I would probably do is downgrade Reilly for a midfield rookie and have Rich in your starting 22.

Cheers guys, might do a little reshuffling and post again soon.  And bartman, im a hawks supporter too, so I have no love for essendon.  Looking forward to seeing buddy destroy them for a 3rd year in a row ;)
