Will Fyfe do worse now that sandi is gone?

I was just thinking this because i was considering fyfe as a Captain choice when he goes to Subi but now not too shure

woah, ballsy move. I can't say I watch much freo games, ask valk about this.

Rucks don't really have THAT much game impact... how much does sandi feed the ball to fyfe normally?

C-Dogg

it wont effect him at all imo... all he has to do is work out where the opposition ruckmen is gonna tap it LOL

Problems

Sandi avg'ing 38 hitouts a game, I wonder how many possessions that equates for both Fyfe and Mundy directly and indirectly  :o

Well he is averaging 108 for the season at subi with a 65 against gellong in their in round 2 to taint the score 103 for the year looking like a good captain option considering boyd and swan are down

i believe sandi out will hurt the whole team, he is by far the most important player and without him freo will struggle to win and get possesion. i would be worried having any freo player in my team. Lucky for me i only have sandi. My advice dont trade in freo guys (bar mzungu) and defitnately dont play them captain.

pav for example scored 53 and 89 with sandi out last year.

Cicjose

Jon Griffin is averaging 36 hitouts at WAFL level so it may have little impact unless bradley moves into the ruck

and Pavlich moves back up forward providing less protection for Mundy and Fyfe just a thought to wrestle with

Chopps

its not like they dont have a ruckman at all, sandi out so a midfielder rucks, i dont think griffen is the best ruck going around but he'll do the job who is Saints ruck at the moment? Mcevoy

The Grundles

Fyfe is playing an outside midfield role not in and under, which is why he racks up the kicks and not so many handballs.  His disposals off Sandi's taps are minimal.  He will still continue to score well without Sandi.

How does an 'in and under' player, that feeds to Fyfe, get the ball? I'm guessing a portion of this would be from hitouts/taps?

i agree if other get less ball he gets less ball. Also i think freo will be looking at losses in their next 3 games, so dont put him captain i think stkilda will easily outgun freo now.

I doubt all three. 1/3 almost certainly, 2/3 isn't a stretch, but they'll pull a win from at least one.

haha good point! fyfe just seems to be a magnet tho...and alot of his possessions are on the wing too, usually outmarking opposition or creating options other than the corridor. we will see i guess :-\

bundyboy

sure Freeo will be hurting with Sandi down, and inside midfielders will now have to change strategy to work off a non-dominant ruck - should be ok - lots of other teams do that !!

As for Fyfe...i think Sandi out will have no direct impact, and little indirect impact.. Outside loose player who acts as link player - and Freeo will still be playing through him to get the ball forward...

my guess....from avg of 115 - down to maybe 110...I'm still seriously considering him....

Cicjose

fyfe is a tackling machine he will probably lose points from direct possession but get 1 or 2 extra tackles a game to make up for it
