Who do I bring in?

Don't usually do this, but I'm struggling a bit with this decision. I've already settled on bringing in Goodes for Petrie this week and now I'm trying to decide what do do with my other trade. My team is as follows:


Goddard, Gibbs, Enright, Deledio, Shaw, Heppell, Lower, (Duigan, Stanley, Otten)

Swan, Boyd, Higgins, Liberatore, Krakouer, Bewick, (Swallow, Harris, Iles)

Cox, Sandilands, (Smith, J. Tippett)

Sylvia, Franklin, Pavlich, Riewoldt, Goodes*, Knights, Tapscott (Prestia, Matera, Richardson)


I have 17 trades and 270K in the bank, but after the Goodes trade I'll be left with roughly 200K (and 16 trades). The players in bold are the one's I'm considering trading. Usually I'd take Selwood hands down over Adcock, but Swallow still has a bit of cash left in him and Lower/Duigan have plateaued in price. By bringing in Adock it will pretty much complete my backline but obviously my midfield is the weakess area of my team so bringing in Selwood (or another premium mid) would greatly strengthen that area. The other thing is that Higgins, Liberatore, Krakouer and Bewick were named on the bench this week and I think there's a reasonably high chance that at least one of those players will be a substitute.

Pretty certain I'll be going with Selwood, but I'd like to get everyone's thoughts. Cheers guys.

time to strengthen the mids

shouldnt even have to think about it selwood will easily outscore adcock and you simply cant afford to have a weak midfield at this stage of the season.

However if i were you i would trade krak instead to selwood if you could afford it, if not i would look at montagna. But do some serious work on your mids

for my team i have Swan, Boyd, Bartel, Selwood, Montagna and im looking at getting in GAz next week, alot of teams are in a simular situation as me and if you dont start strenghing your mid now you will fall behind.

Swap Higgens to the fwd line with Prestia as he's not a keeper mid... But is a keeper fwd if he's over his Injuries.. then try to get 4 more keeper mids...types like mundy ,S. Thompson, Rockliff Ablett after this rd as these guys don't miss anymore HDH matches due to their bye situations.. then Pendles after rd 13 or selwood who misses the 2nd week of finals...  ;)

Haha yeh definitely. Higgins is only in my mids this week to avoid a donut (i.e. 4 GC players in the one line). Pendlebury will be coming in after the pies second bye and Mitchell as well once he gets the 61 out of his 3 game cycle. Yeh I know selwood has the bye second week of the DT finals, but I'm backing myself to finish top 4 and win week one!

Can't afford to go Krakour to Selwood, plus I'm not sold on Montagna or Gaz. Gaz has had one good game (DT wise) and it was against a poor side in the crows. St Kilda's poor form coupled with the loss of Hayes makes me a bit hesistant about Montagna.
