Trading for Top 17 year olds

Trading to GWS for a top 17 year old.

I wouldn't mind Melbourne offering Matthew Bate and our first round pick for one of the 17 year olds. My preference would be Sam Mayes.

I figure that the draft pool this year isn't as great as next year so effectively we are getting a better player plus our draft pick for next year.

I've always rated Bate, but seems to have stalled for some reason (everytime I see him he seems to go ok though). That would be a win-win in my book!

Reading a few articles that have come out yesterday and today - it appears that GWS are not interested in picks unless they are for next year.  It seems they are only interested in players.
