Hey guys,

I'll be trading in B. Jacobs from Port for Grimes tomorrow and wondering if he's good enough to start in front of one of Lower or Stanley? if so, who would you send to the bench to make way for him? At the moment I'm thinking of dropping Lower just because his bad games have been worse than Stanley's as of late. Can't decide, any advice?

Also I have Puopolo; if he does in fact play would you guys put him on field. I'm pretty worried he could be subbed.

Thanks  8)

I wouldn't be fielding an untried player (at AFL level) over two (relatively) consistent ones. + people are correct to worry about his subility.... lower + stanley should get you 60s/ 70s, at best jacobs may pull an 80, but if he's a sub, 30 is very likely.

keep hearing good things about jacobs - but 1st game at AFL level - and against the swans....not sure I would be starting him.

stanley done everything right so far, and adelaide playing like crap...seems safe to me...

lower - back at home ground, might get back to where he was early - but I'm not convinced - he just doesn't look as good as he did early

Stanley for me out of those choices...but honestly, think you are talking about 10-15 points gap...

depends how manny GC players you have on the field more than 3 then i would go lower named in the guts but if stanly is your third then that is fine Jacobs is last on the bench playing his first game after 6 weeks out i think he will get benched

So I'm not sure whether this makes me informed or biased, probably somewhere in the middle.
But I went to school with this bloke, he finished the year after me and we knew, even when Jack Watts was still playing for us, that he was going places.
He has always been a ball winner and plays the kind of position that I think will transition well into AFL footy, unlike Jacks transition.
I think he's capable of a ton and at some stage in his career I expect him to be tonning it up week by week. I'm starting him.

oh right, sorry talking about benny jacobs! BGS boys!
nobody seems to read my username right!
first word is THE so it becomes The Swiz... (:

bundyboy

sorry Swiz......won't happen again.. :)

and I hope you are right about Jacobs...

thanks for the feedback gang, probably going to just sit him on the bench this week and see how the young fella takes to his first game. Hopefully he kills it either way  :D

Did anyone else "V B." in the topic and think of beer?

Haha..

On Topic - no way would I start Jacobs this week over Lower/Stanley. He's perfect sub material. However he will be an out and out gun, just looking good for the sub is all.

Subliminal advertising eh Nails...haha  :P

Yeah i'll bench him this week, just that with all the hype surrounding him I was getting excited he might shoot out of the blocks..

theswiz

haha yeah he is potential sub material... but fingers crossed they start him and let him show us the gun he is.
I've found that typically coaches dont sub first gamers... there are exceptions but it seems to be true!

No worries bundyboy.. not a big deal!
