THE Gold Coast Suns have been rocked by the withdrawal of captain Gary Ablett from tomorrow's clash with Melbourne at the Gabba.

Ablett, who hasn't trained all week, also opted out of the Suns' final session on the Gold Coast this morning.

Ablett's absence is a huge blow for the young Suns, who have been thumped in their opening two AFL clashes.

Ablett, despite playing in a well-beaten side, gathered 34 possessions in the Gold Coast's loss to the Western Bulldogs last weekend.

+1

this goes well with my plan to get him in at some point later this year (if he is performing).  This just pushes his date back further  8)

BratPack

Yep maybe Round 11 now instead of Round 10

Doesnt mean a think, expect hurting GC chances of its maiden win.

He's still coming in rd 10 for me... his price wont be affected by not playing and he still has plenty of time to drop in price.

I think GC might have a slight chance of winning this match..... :-\

Holz

this is great news for GC rookies, they should probably score more, look what matera did when ablett wasnt playing. I know wish i ad started him over richardson. Hopefully it hurts and doesnt hinder harris.

More than a slight chance with Brown and Ablett.  I still would have tipped Melbourne but it could have been a close game with them in the side.  Alas that isn't the case, and GC will 'probably' get blown out of the water again.

Interested to see how Melbourne goes more than GC tbh.
