Dawes relies on goal for points, will be inconsistent.

He kicked 2 goals on the weekend and scored 112.

I won't be picking him up though.

He really doesn't! That's the reason he could be such a good DTer. Sure, he had 4 goals for 119 points in round 1, but even if you turned all those goals into just kicks, he still scores 95! And surely he's not going to get less than a couple of goals a game anyway. Round 2 he had 2 goals for 112. Again, take away the goals and that's 100. I'd be pretty happy with my $280k forward scoring an average of 97.5 without kicking any goals.

He has played rubbish teams the first few rounds and thats why his scores are good.....so i am not sold just yet....

Well, I can either look at Dawes or Tapscott, or my other option is to look into a way to get Swan... but that would involve getting rid of Joel Selwood (and hopefully getting him back when his price plummets).

Actually, may as well ask, does anyone think it would be wise to get Swan in for Selwood now and then get Selwood back after his price drops? I know it's using two trades to end up with the same player, but it would take me at least three to get Swan later...

dale93

Well depends really how much his price drops really maybe as a $30,000 drop he is still only 410 odd and all he needs to do is avergae a very low average to go up?if that makes since?

LaHug

Yeh, was just doing some thinking and if he gets his last year average for the next two games, he's average 80 by the time his price changes. Not enough of a drop and then another 107 score and he goes back up... But if he has one more mediocre game in the next two and averages about 60, he'll plummet and then drop again the next week, hopefully giving me enough time to get him back before he's back at his price. If I drop him at $443,700, I'd hope to get him back before he got back there. But the question is, how long would he stay below?

dale93

Its all what the noone selwood owners want is for matt thomas or someone like that from the power to shut him down and score under 100 then he is pretty much quaranteed to drop in price which is sweet?

So... I guess in summary, I have a few choices:
1. Foley --> Libba, Selwood --> Swan
2. Foley --> Libba, Gamble --> Dawes
3. Foley --> Libba, Gamble --> Tapscott
4. Foley --> Libba and nothing else
5. Gamble --> Tapscott and nothing else
6. Don't trade

Which is best? (Should probably just add a poll and might well do so)

1. No - never trade out a premium unless injured (Hayes) or seriously underperforming. Selwood will drop in price, but will return and score well. It's not worth a trade.
2. Possibly - Yes only if you are bringing Dawes in as a keeper (which you should be IMO)
3. Possibly - Obviously the best trade combo that will give you the biggest price rise
4. Possibly - I think Foley should definitely go, up to you whether you make another trade.
5./6. No - I think it's worth getting rid of Foley at least

LaHug

Narrowed it down to 2 or 3 and pretty sure I'll be going option 2. Thanks for all the discussion, guys!

+1

I think it all depends on whether you are starting gamble or not.

If you arent then get liba in only

LaHug

Sadly, I was starting Gamble, so he has to go. But will I trade for Dawes or Tapscott... I hate decision making :(
