What to do with Astbury?

Been wondering what to do with Astbury? Ideally i'd like to upgrade to lids, but even if I go Foley to Curnow/Libba i'll still only have 353k or thereabouts... I am leaning towards Astbury to Heppell to free up some cash, I probably should have picked him before round one but thought i'd take a punt...

I'm also torn with Foley, I have been thinking of swapping him with Ward, especially with the dogs playing GC this week he should get a pretty tidy score this week! But then again, Libba is looking the goods and is far cheaper!

Thanks for your thoughts everyone! These 2 guys are the only thorn in my side at the moment!

I see a lot of people talking about Suckling, he had an awesome game on the weekend, but scored a 55 rd 1. Is he going to be a hot and cold player? Or do you think he can be consistent? Have also considered Adcock, but i'd have to downgrade Foley to a rookie to do this trade.

ive also gone with Astbury, he got moved to my bench for round 2, and to be honest will be staying there for the near future. i really got him for 2 reasons, 1st i thought he may have a break out year and his NAB form looked good, 2nd for his mpp(i have mckernan from adel in the backline). i dont know if u r using him for mpp,if so,just keep him. otherwise instead of cash cowing him maybe just leave him has a weekly emg. since his place in the team seems fairly secure.. personally i will just keep him and see if he comes good.. on foley maybe just stick with him, he is a good player .if u r only going for league win then dont trade , in saying that foley to libba looks like a good trade. i'll be doing the atley to libba, and with wb playing gc, libba will be on the field,,curnow is up against pies this week and js might not be has good

I'm not using him for mpp, I also thought he would have a break out year and thought he would score well this season. Looks like we both got fooled by NAB cup form! 197k is alot of money to be sitting on the bench.

I think i've made up my mind with Astbury, i'm going to trade down to Heppell, I have Hibbard in the mids so can mpp between mids/def. As for Foley i'm still making up my mind. If I do trade it will be for either Ward or Libba. Both are going to go up nicely in price and will set me up well to upgrade to a premium player come round 9-10.

I had Suckling last year, hoping that was gunna be his break out...Looks like I was 1 year too early. ::)

Anyway, I was never too keen on Astbury. I think your gunna have to hold onto him.

Ideally $ 60,000+ in the bank before 1st lockout is ideal mate. That way you would've had a few more options when trading early...Water under the bridge now I guess.

Would have been very handy windigo! I should have stuck to my guns and kept Heppell in! Got sucked into the NAB cup form of Astbury unfortunately! I'm not a massive fan of burning trades early on, but I can see so much more upside in getting in Heppell and Ward/Libba.

That's another thing yorgis, if I hold onto him he will drop in price sharply... I think i'm just going to have to bite the bullet and do what I should have done before rd 1. If you had to choose between Ward/Libba who would you go for? Depending on the Foley trade I can spend anywhere from 220k - 353k to upgrade Astbury.

Hmm, Ward looks more solid, as in his scoring capabilities...

$9,300 in the bank. I stretched it out pretty thin trying to get as many good players in as I could. Really regretting not putting Heppell in from the start lol. Just aiming to fixing Foley and Astbury at the moment, i'm pretty happy with my overall team!

Hmm, things will be tough to get Swan. It's a waiting game.

But you can always do a Double trade. But if your a serious contender.......

It's going to be very tough trying to get Swan in! I think my best bet at the moment is the trade to Ward. Hopefully some of my rookies have earned enough to trade out and I can upgrade Ward straight to Swan... I'll think about it over the next few days, i'll make the trade when teams are released!
