Was a unique pick in my team as I thought he could take his game to the next level this year. With a score of 63 against Melbourne and 60 today against Essendon, I'm strongly considering giving him the flick for Callan Ward. While I hate burning trades this early, I can't think of much wrong with this trade. Anyone think this is a bad idea?

just hold onto him. put up with his scores and hope he maintains his price. then when a cash cow is ready do a double trade to a super premium.

He's probably likely to lose 20-30K before than, while Ward is likely to have gone up by roughly 100-150K. That's a huge amount of cash to miss out on.

yeah tough choice. if you feel like the rest of your team is really solid and has alot of keepers. then i would do the trade.

But if you're team is not even close to being set. then dont waste trades. It basically depends on whether you feel comfortable with the rest of your team to do a sideway trade. Players losing value doesnt mean to trade straight away.

If you can conjure up another 50-60k, you could upgrade to anthony or rockliff.
If not, ward is probably the best option here.

Or unique and go to cotchin?

I was tossing up between Cotchin and Kennedy all pre-season, but I had Foley so I went with Kennedy. I could pull a double trade and downgrade Foley to Ward and then Kennedy to anyone, but I think Foley will come good so I want to hang on to him.

Midfield is currently: Swan, Boyd, Kennedy, Foley, Harris, Swallow, (Bewick, Prestia, Heppel)

So does Kennedy, however unlike Kennedy, Ward is a tackling machine! Don't need Ward's scoring to go up (currently 88 average) for his price to skyrocket!
