i traded him out for Dal Santo and i'll trade him back in when his price drops. make some cash!

looking at the time you posted this the teams have not even be finalised as well. Oh well your team, but a big mistake by doing this too early

whhat. he will almost definetly drop 50k. so trading him out then back in is definitely worth 50k

Alright let's talk this out and hopefully you can see how stupid this idea is..

I don't have Selwood for the record..

You have J. Selwood, you're an amateur dream teamer so you STUPIDLY trade him out for say Dal Santo.

Okay so one trade down, you've gained say $30k (he won't drop 50k off one bad game in round 1).

So you've gained 0 extra premiums and burnt 1 trade.

Now it's round 7 and you want Selwood back because you were stupid enough to trade him out in the first place..

You'll now have to downgrade someone, Heppell for example (I wouldn't trade him out rd7 but he's just an example)

You have now spent another trade to downgrade Heppell, 2 trades and 0 extra premiums for a minimal 30k + Heppell's money..

You now have to use a THIRD trade to get a gun in, therefore it has cost you an ENORMOUS 3 trades for ONE gun. Not worth it at all, you get $30k for one trade...

ALL your trades IMO should be for $100k + i.e. your cash cows down to Mzungu/Callinan/other debuting rookies, for upgrades of 20+ ppg, LTIs or in Finals.

A trade to save 30k now is stupid when you could have used that trade for 100k down the track..

tl;dr herp derp don't waste trades you amateur dream teamer.

While I dont agree with your anger nails, it is a perfect explanation.

Trading a gun cos he is going to miss a week is a noob mistake

i persoanlly wouldnt trade but i dont think it is an horrible move. Number 1 a downgrade is common in round 7 and if you have duigan is the perfect time to downgrade him to someone as he has the round 8 bye. This trade would happen anyway so its not really related to the selwood trade. IF selwood is dropped to a player that is likely to go up in value such as a bartel than the money saved is not just the amount selwood would decrese but the amount bartel will increase, so will be more likely 60-70k plus.  If the 3 trades did lead to an increase in 1 premium i would be very happy with it the problem i see with the trade is im not sure enough cash would be generated to go selwoo into pendles, duigan into jacobs and than harris into selwood. It all depends on your structure lets say you have a pretty strong midfield of Swan, Boyd, Anthony, Selwood, Foley, Krak (Harris), i   would probably be pretty happy if 3 trades could turn that midfield into Swan, Boyd, Anthony, Bartel, Selwood, Foley by round 7.  There is probably no way i could get another premium in that early unless you drop a really good rookie who has gone up alot  e.g krak, lower (but they are probably starting) or upgraded a mid pricer (which is not what you want to be doing as you want to get rid of rookies).

If you go for league than dumb move, if you are going for overall than it could be a calculated risk to lift you up the table. It will probably gain you 50 this week, and probably another 100 on the extra time you have that premium. so i see the value in gaininig 150 points and around 80k from just burning 1 trade.

saying that i sont have selwood so im loving it
