The Master Class that Ben Graham, Nick Maxwell and Tom Harley had during tonight's game showed the flaws of Roo's new style.
Head down through the entire kick is ok but without the full extension of the leg at the snap of the kick delivery means there will never be enough directional penetrative depth to the balls trajectory.

I believe it is an invented method purely to protect his hamstring which is still not allowing him to reach full extension after his op last year. He still has amazing courage (as shown by some marking attempts tonight) but his kicking for goal won't warm the hearts of his DT/SC investors this season.

Lets hope his body holds up this year, and his tear ducts!  :'(

I knew his kicking style was awkward so avoided him by trading him out yesterday. Didn't know it was about his hamstrings. If he doesn't get injured at least it's working :-\. I hope hios DT/SC investors feel it though when he lines up for goal at his normal range :P.

Same as J, haven't heard from you most of this week!

Sorry I haven't been around much. I've been doing interviews for my new assistant Manager and also for a Retail Co-Ordinator and my workload has been unbelievable.
Doing alot of work on this house after recently getting pre approval for our next investment, want to hold onto the two we have whilst moving into The One  ;D - couple of months away yet.

I have Roo in SC and DT but after analysing his kicking style I'm hoping he's not just trying to keep himself on the park by altering his game style.

Nice Roost about "The One". Hope it's worth that title :P.

I saw it during the NAB Cup and was thinking what the hell is he doing? It just looked very awkward to kick it! His body is too squished :-\.

McRooster

Yes, very squishy indeed!

and no full extension at the impact point of the kick, preserving those hamstrings.

That's a pretty good photo whoever took it! I couldn't even kick a ball like that if I tried!

Looks like he is trying to give himself a concussion :P.

McRooster

Concussion Sub Rule for St Nick hey  :P

However there is plenty of love out there for Nick  ;)
