Boys im sitting 2-3 in my league. 2nd highest points agenst in my league. The league is ranked 118th. so pretty competative.

Probably the worst year ive ever endured with injuries to my team. My injuries & omissions this year hav been. Chapman, N.g Brown, Ablett, Houlihan, Raines, Butler, Skipworth, Meesen, Jacobs, anthony, barham and lucas

This is my current team
Cornes, Goddard, Drummond, Houlihan, Mackie, P. Burgoyne, Raines.
Hill, Petrenko

Bartel, Cornes, Coughlan, Selwood, Pearce, Robinson
Dangerfield, Barham

Cox, Kreuser
Jacobs, Meesen

Chapman, N.G.Brown, Deledio, J.Brown, Higgins, Krakoure, Sidebottom
M.Brown, Warren

This is my current team. I got 1903 this week with chapman, higgins and houlihan all on my bench. (a decent effort). I have 140000 in the bank. (10 trades left)

I hav a few ideas for trades this week - please tell me wat you think i should do.

option 1- trade hill for broughton, and trade houlihan for grimes. this would leave me with 420000 in the bank and let me upgrade dangerfield to swan or corey the next week. and also upgrade mitch brown to giansiracusa or upgrade krakoure to pavlich or s johnson

option 2 - trade hill for grimes, trade raines for broughton. leaving me with 320000. once again next week i would trade dangerfield for swan or corey, and with the reamaining cash should i upgrade krakoure for giansiracusa or franklin. or save the cash (70000) for a trade at a later date?

option 3 - hill for grimes, petrenko for broughton. leaving me with 260000 in the bank. next weeks trade would only be dangerfield for swan, corey or gibbs

your opinions on which option is better would be nice? thanks

Watto

All of those options involve at least 3 trades.

With only 10 left, you really need to conserve them. After two more weeks, you have only <7 to go, and if the injury horror continues, you'll need every one of them

But anyway, I reckon option #2 is the best, and keep the $70k for later

thanx for the advice watto. i realise im leaving myself abit short with only 7 trades. but after these 3 trades im hoping i wont hav to trade for about 5 weeks.

i am leaning towards option 2 or 3.

IMO, with only 10 trades left you have to lay off trading where possible or else you will be screwed come the finals.

In terms of your suggested trades, I can see the logic in bringing in Broughton, as he gives you some immediate cash and provides decent ish cover.

I am not so convinced by the Grimes trade. This is a sideways trade and you don't have enough trades to be doing them!! I know Raines has not been great but you sometimes have to stick to you initial reasons for picking him over Grimes.

Finally, all though Petrenko and to a lesser extent Hill have not been high scorers, they do provide cover, and I wouldn't necessarily trade either.

trade hill for broughton and sit tight till hodge starts playing again. then trade houlihan for hodge.

dont waste any other trades for a while. you will need them all come the end of the season.

I agree with the lovepelican.

You are probably not gonna have the trades to downgrade and make money out of Grimes.  So unless you see him as a lock defender (based on 2 AFL games), or an expensive bench defender for the rest of the season, let him go.

Broughton on the other hand will give you plenty of money in your pocket and with a mature 22 year old body, should see out the season = cover for any injuries to your main defenders.

By the way, its a nice backline you have put together there, and it should look better if Mackie and Burgoyne really hit their straps.
