I know that most teams have Sandilands and Cox with backup from players like Smith and Derickx but should we consider using 2 MPP players to give greater flexibility?  How does it sound to downgrade Sandilands to Ryder or Jolly and with the extra cash bring in Hale?  If you then bring in Petrie to the forward line you can cover his suspension and byes from all of them when they eventually occur.  This provides more flexibility, does not rely on the rookies actually playing and the downside of losing Sandilands is fairly small.  Your thoughts?

i agree, at the moment i have cox + fraser in rucks, vikery on ruck bench and petrie in the forward line as pottential keeper and MMP incase i upgrade or downgrade vikery down the track.

alot of people are going with Cox and Sandi, with a cheap GC ruck and J.Tippet (MPP) on the bench with Petrie, K.Tippett, Hale or Stanley in the foward line to back up Cox and Sandi when they have the bye

I agree on the cox downgrade only. I have Sandilands and Jolly

is that extra flexibility going to score more over the season than wat sandilands would with smith chipping in with 60's in sandilands 2 games off???

you can score much more points upgrading a player who actually starts than having a good 3rd ruck. The 20 max points you lose from playing bailey/smith each bye is easily covered if your 100k upgrade leads to only a 5 point average increase. e.g Foley to cotchin, prestia to knights, bartel to swan etc...

IMO, I think the main aim from a Sandi / Cox is you are banking on them being the top two scorers at the end of the year.
Injuries aside right now that looks like being the case. So beside having to cover them in bye rounds, you are going to get the best score without having to waste a trade upgrading Jolly to Sandi later in the year.
