Averaged 116 in the last third of the season after an very late start to the season injured and lacking match fitness.

A good pre-season and Silk has good value - much more upside than down.

Definitely looking at him for a spot in the midfield with Swan.

Can any Hawthorn fans confirm whether Burgoyne is injured?

An article on the Hawks website from 14th Jan states that he has had an uniterupted pre-season but he has apparently pulled out of playing for the All-Stars on friday night due to injury.

I know Cyril is in the side but no Burgoyne, Buddy or Bateman (the Hawthorn's first indigenous captain) so I wouldn't be making any quick judgements.

You clearly are not familiar with his SC history.

Averaged 115 in 06, 105 in 07 and 08. An injury riddled season in 09 and starting the season injured last year and still managed to average 100. End last year in the best form he has ever been in.

Like him a lot, he's just about confirmed for me.

He's definitely in the mix for my midfield and I'd like to see him get through a full season just because I like the bloke. I would have loved to see him in the Rich v AS match just to see exactly how well he's moving etc. Very close to selecting him at the moment.
