Need some ideas on what to do please?

Hi Guys need some thoughts of what to do. I am happy with my side and i have only made 2 trades for the year so far. My big problem is i only have $5000 in the bank. While i have some good cash cows i dont have the money to upgrade any into premiums. My side is

Def: Goddard, Enright, Cornes, Houlihan, Hill, Gilbee, Hurn (Petrenko, Suban)
Mid; Ablett, Mitchell, Goodes, Selwood, Kerr, Rich (Beams, Moss)
Rucks; COx, Tippet, (White, Spencer)
Fwd: Deledio, Motlop, S Johnson, Fevola, Krakouer, Higgins, Ziebell,(Hogan, Mitch Brown)
So far only dissapointment is gilbee. I dont want to trade Ablett but this might be a solution for my cash flow problem. Wanting to know what if any trades i should make or just sit tight as i have cover every where. I feel if i dont trade soon i will miss out on building from a good side to a very good side.

I'd look at upgrading Tippett.

Keep an eye on the BEs of Houlihan, Hurn, Krakouer and Ziebell, as they could be ripe to cash in shortly. 

It looks a good side, with plenty of cash generating potential, but could be improved by bringing in some premiums.

Tippet is one i was planning on upgrading shortly but he still has a low B/E this week and should rise again. The problem as i said though is not having any cash in the bank for these upgrades. This is why i am questioning trading ablett to free up some cash. Just wondering if anyone can see some other possible trades because i obviously would want ablett back and my dilemma is, am i just wasting trades? I still think most of my cows have some more money in them except probably houlihan but he is not high enough to trade for anyone decent.

Mate the idea is to burn two trades to get your premiums in. ie. cash in an increased rookie for a new rookie and then use the cash to upgrade a player. ie. Beams -> Cockie or Deboer and then upgrade Goodes to a Bartell or Swan. Ziebell -> Ballantyne (in 2/3 weeks) then upgrade krakour to Franklin or Davis. By doing this a few times you might even generate enough spare cash to upgrade straight from a cow to a premium. Hope that helps.

Yeah i am aware of needing to trade 2 players but i think all of my rookies except maybe petrenko has more money to make. If i trade petrenko i have a problem as i think broughton is probably the best option down back. This means though i would have three fremantle backman. Can i carry three? Then if i trade petrenko do i upgrade Gilbee(Going to drop more cash this week with a high B/E) or Houlihan ( May be able to get a little more cash but not a great deal) ? What are your thoughts or should i look elsewhere or not trade at all.

If you think Gilbee is a keeper, don't trade him.

If you want to upgrade him, I'd cash him in for Hodge now.

The doggies have had some tough fixtures the last few weeks, have a look at the fixtures when considering your next trade.
