When I am working out my rough plan for the season I count on using 2 trades per upgrade.  So 7 upgrades would be 14 trades leaving you 10 trades for injuries/problems/drunk trades :P and finals

I am working on 8 upgrades for the year leaving me 8 trades for injuries/problems and finals.

For me it depends on how many premiums you are beginning with...

If you have 14, then 8 would be what you aim for, but that depends on if any of those will turn into a premium like Krak could, etc, then it would be 7.

That's how I base my decision.

i have 14 keeps need 8 upgrades i expect some of those 8 will be keepers but would rather account for them now and not have to trade then to lock em in and they dont fire as expected

Need to factor in the 'chasing a gun rook trade'

i.e trading for rockliff or pods last year if you didn't start with them...

so 14 for upgrade, 6 LTI, 2 final, 2 chasing ( better to use a trade chasing a gun rook than a 4 week injury IMO)

yeh iv got 14 keepers atm + knights krak leuenberger n foley so might have 2 or 3 keepers there, so id say 14 trades for upgrades leaving 10 for injuries n sideways at the end of the year

i would be surprised if foley averages 80+ but unless i have horror injury runs than thats not enough to start me team after round 14, as i already have 4 of the top premiums and i will be getting in ablett and probably pendles.

i can see one of knights,krak or petrie being my 7th forward however. I think anyone not picking these 4 players will be in trouble.
