for me a rookie that is essentially guranteed 22 games in the midfield has to be a lock. I also will have gaff if he starts round 1.

im on starting 2 rookie mids so im splashing out on the best 2

gonna go wallis or iles wallis b o g for cannons in gf iles b&f for suns

only pick wallis if he starts for the dogs, same with krakouer. If they paly should be good but you get no points for playing in the VFL

Bluke

What about Polec... No one is talking about him. And the Brisbane midfield has been gutted.

He should play and he is cheaper than both Swallow and Gaff.

ele... I to have contemplated what your talking about. I think it will come down to a last minute decision based on NAB form etc.

Slap

i have polec in my side alongside gaff.  Gaff wouldn't get the number 3 jersey if he wasn't gonna get shoved into AFL..  Nic Natanui a couple years ago was thrust into the AFL and he is a ruckman! - he obviously got the recognisable number 9 jumper.

Chopps

gotta have swallow he is gonna play

anyone choosing gaff over swallow? or is it just me

Why not have both if they are early season starters ?

Worked for Martin / Trengove / Scully last season

Unless Swallow has a screaming NAB I'm not inclined to pay over the odds for a rookie. You can get a decent rookie mid and upgrade a mid-ranger to premium status instead.
At the end of the day rookies are there to make cash and eventually be flipped into premo's (who are there to score points) for the finals, I'd never assume they are keepers. Of course some do make the grade eg Rockliff last year but you can't know that pre-season

If we get another cheap/rookie NAB Cup surprise packet like Liam Anthony in 2009 or Barlow last year, he would probably take Swallow's place in my side given there is probably a greater potential upside.  I avoided Scully last year and certainly didn't regret it.

i have had gaff and swallow in since the draft but now after all this talk along with warnie not putting them in his "sample team" i have got thinking maybee it would be beter to drop them down to some 80k rookies and pocketing the 150k and than turning sandi into cox so i can upgrade i back bench to grimes so i dont have to start heppel.

It worked for me last year not getting any of the expensive guys and could be a good pick this year. If wallis is named round 1 i will definately be droping 1 of them.
