triple trade to strengthen backs

Ok, imo my backs are too underpowered, my forwards are too over powered

backs- goddard, gibbs, gilbert, adcock, otten, duigan, puopolo (toy, cripps, hibberd)
fwds- chappy, franklin, N.riewoldt, Jbrown, rioli, mitch duncan, knights (prestia, mzungu, I smith)

anyway, depending a lot on NAB of course, but here's what I was thinking of doing (I still have 80k left over from salary cap)
Duncan-> richardson
gibbs--> gram
cripps/hibberd--> duffield
leaves me with 40k

so, any opinions? (I wasn't sure whether to put this in rate my dt, or here btw, so soz if I screwed up)

madskill55

Not sure about salary cap room here... but if you definitely want 3 saints(god,roo,gilb) in there change goddard into the midfield to account for mpp and byes. If not, i think gibbs in carltons midfield (maybe a bit bias here) will outscore gram...

Whose in ur midfield atm? You'd probably haveta juggle around if you want a goddard, gibbs, gilbert, duffield top 4 in the backline!

Zarts

My mids are swan goodes deledio anthony krakouer heppell (swallow, harris, callinan)

(ftr, swallow and/ or harris are only benched for round 1)

If I downgrade one of my bench rucks I can probably squeez duff in without dropping gibbs?

AndyJ

3 Saints would seem like a bad idea perhaps something like -

Johno Brown (who already has a groin injury, see http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/107450/default.aspx) -> a cheapy like Ian Cullinan (ade)/Cam Richardson (nth)

Then maybe squeeze Deledio (rich) / Grimes (melb) / Duffield (freo) into your backline instead of one of those 5 rookie backs.

Bring on the nab cup! :)

Zarts

mmm, sounds like a plan... yeah, I was a bit worried about jbrowns injury. Yeah, I actually didnt, believe it or not, notice that I would have had 3 st kilda backs (fail and a half).

I already have deledio in mids... but, I suppose, with proposed shifting, I could get duff in without downgrading gibbs. mmm

brown'll be playing 2nd nab cup aye?

AndyJ

Who knows if he'll play, His groin injury last year really applied the breaks to his performance/scoring ... can only hope his recovery is better this time around. *crosses fingers*

Zarts

yeah, I know, I had him last year when he was injured.... he never really took enough time off off sufficiently recuperate though. Hopefully that'll change this year.

fingers crossed as well.

IMO, i dont reckon anyone should start with brown this year. Its the same every year, he gets a big first 2-3 rnd scores.. then his groin plays up and his price deteriorates and hence you could pick him up later at an cheaper price. you could trade brown out for another premium (5-1-1) or get krak in there and go 4 premo-2 mid pricer (knights.krak) and prestia as ur fwd line!

i find it a waste if harris/swallow are on ur bench... even though u put them on the bench cause of their rnd1 bye... ull have krak,heppell,swall, and harris all most likely playing games in rnd 1-2 hence 2 will haveta be on the bench. why dont u chuck krak up forward, heppell down back, mzungu in the middle bench, chuck hillberd in the middle or get wallis/atley type of player....upgrade cripps to a premium.Then ur set for a good year ;P

Zarts

yeah, cause of my large number of dpps, I can pretty much do a lot of that shifting during the season.

yeah, if brown doesn't play nab and play well I'm probably going to drop him pretty quick.

thanks for the advice madskill :)

Zarts

ok, I've now changed my line up, this is my backs

goddard, gibbs, gilbert, grimes, adcock, otten, puopolo (toy, hibberd, duigan)

and my fwds

chapman, franklin, riewoldt, rioli, duncan, knights, richardson (prestia, mzungu, I smith)

I also downgraded seaby in my rucks to bailey (bench rucks)

and I have 217 000 left over

comments?

Spend a bit of that extra cash in your mids now

Zarts

believe it or not, but my mids aren't actually that weak atm lol, but yeah, I'm just gonna hang out for NAB now :P

although I am considering doing a bit of fiddling, utilising petries dpp ability, and getting cox or ryder into my rucks...

or, not worth it?

8-6 Suited

I pick not, as they are pretty weak. What is DPP? I suspect you mean MPP?

Zarts

dpp= mpp

dual position player= multi position player

are they really that weak? What's the clear weak points?
like, I know they aren't extremely strong, but I wouldn't have classed them as that weak... keeping in mind I can sub several of them into forwards/ backs if I need to bolster them a bit.
